I read his reviews and was fooled as some of you were. First upon entering his office we noticed it was QUITE crowded. I approached the sign in desk and asked since I have an appointment, would there be a long wait? Oh no you will be OK. Yea, after an hour I was called in. My wife was with me and she noticed some of the waiting "clients" were talking to themselves and looked very unkept. Not a good beginning. A tect came out and showed us to an exam room. Did my BP and took blood., He then showed us to another room for the doctor to exam me. My wife said she would wait outside, but looking at the exam table she pointed out that there was pubic hairs on the paper sheet I was supposed to disrobe and lay on. The tect changed the paper so I could lay down. I was to have an ultra sound done. He had 2 instruments he was going to use. I've had this before and noticed that both of the instruments had gel left on by the previous patient. The one was to be inserted into my rectum. Yikes !

Retiring doctor quickly recommended a TRUS biopsy (invasive and not accurate procedure) based on one outside Quest PSA score test of 4.7. I suggested he redo the blood work to validate. He ran another test. While waiting for his results, I did one more Quest test and one through my Primary Care Physician at Holy Cross. Results came in 4.18 and 3.8. One week later received Dr Herman’s bloodwork results PSA 6.8. (These four tests were run within a three week period). I called with my concern of their high score. No return call from Dr Herman or the office. Poor customer service and scaring quick prognosis by a physician. I was guaranteed a call back by office. Folks, I went and got a MRI. Just return with a CD in hand. The Doctor says no trace of cancer. Clean prostrate. Please do your homework. Don’t go through with a TRUS procedure before you get an MRI. TRUS is only 30-40% accurate and invasive. These doctors are traditionalists. They are not progressive. They operate a machine. Little patient empathy. Time to retire Dr Herman.

Relieved! I was nervous about my visit but from the reception desk to the medial staff and then Dr Herman, I was put at ease. Thank you!

Dr. Herman conducted a very thorough and comprehensive urological exam on me. Lots of tests to make sure he had full information before making a diagnosis. If I had a urological issue, I’d go back. The front desk staff is not the best I’ve ever seen, but that’s just a detail that doesn’t affect the quality of care once you get past them.

Would not recommend. Spent hours in the waiting room only to be rushed out of my appointment.

Worst medical experience ever. Two physicians no nurses, no nurse practitioners or physician assistants. In turn there is no one to correspond with you as a patient when in need or something goes wrong. An Office Manger plays many rolls with no professional licence. Dr Herman conducted a consult and exam. Dr Hester performed a biopsy on me. It was suggested that dirty instruments were used. A 103 to 104 temp 15 hour's later, vomitting, chills, sweats, weak, diarrea, dizzy to the point of complete dehydration. 1 call made to a female covering phones and 3 phone calls to the Joe, Office Manager over an entire day of agony. By day 2 could no longer urinate, and I have one kidney. Called Office Manager and Pharmacy. Pharmacist told them to get the patient a proper antibiotic for fever and possible infection. Office Manger over the phone diagnosed me with an infection (remind you not a licensed professional), was going to call in a new script to my pharmacy with Dr. Herman's license. Told me from here on out seek an ER for help. Not once did either Doctor call me as a patient, they did not return ER doctors call, or the hospital infectious disease doctors call. My Primary spent days trying to get records from this Practice so to work with the hospital and infectious disease doctor after my leaving the hospital. After 4 IV bags of fluid, and 4 IV bags of antibiotics I returned home with still very little urine flow, and reduced temp. They are an over crowed office making money off consultlations and procedures. Total Patient Neglect. I am still not out of the woods as the infection took its toll on my immune system. I have continuous headaches and a fog mentally that I am being told will take 3 months to clear. Currently on 1675 mg of antibiotics twice a day for 6 weeks. A complaint to the Florida Dept. Of Licensing is in the works with several physicians assisting the matter.

I waiting over an hour before discovering that Dr. Herman was not even there. When I saw Dr. Herman, he was rude and unconcerned.

Ruined my life forever. Cut too deeply into my prostate immediately without other considerations, according to another urologist which caused my ED. Never tried any form of treatment but decided to just go in and cut. I would recommend him to no one. But if you you do, be sure to inquire and ask as many questions and for as many options as possible before allowing him to cut.
