Dr Adams was my primary physician for over 15 years on 04/06/2023 I had to change my primary physician to another doctor Dr Adam is not the same doctor as I use to know, most of his staff follows his attitude, for the first time he changed my in clinic appointment to a telephone appointment due to his unavailability at the clinic which was fine I did not had any problem with that, to verify my medications on their system and patient portal "My Health Records" his very rude, insulting and humiliating nurse called to interrogate me about my medications maybe they believe patients cannot be trusted she called to get confirmation on the medications by cross questioning me I felt as if she do not trust me her way of communication was annoying she was very insulting and demeaning in the manner of asking questions she kept repeating herself and did not like my answers I had to repeat myself many time to her but she ignored me I asked her to let someone else talk to me I cannot talk to her anymore but she did not care and kept talking I had to hang the phone and in few minutes later I received a phone call by his front desk staff to let me know Dr Adam will not be able to see me I was surprise and wondered what happened to him all he had to do was to go over my blood report which he had ordered for this appointment? I had already complained to him about his nurse's attitude few years back Today on 4/15/2023 I received his registered letter dated 04/05/2023 mailed on 04/11/2023 to inform he cannot see me anymore accusing me of being disrespectful to his staff he should had the courtesy to speak to me I am his very old patient he should have asked me or sent an email to know the problem his one-sided response speaks of his compassionate and caring attitude towards his patients and his way of carrying his business
I went to Dr. Adams for about 10 years but recently moved to a new primary care doctor. I had two routine annual checkups scheduled way in advance in recent years, but the front desk canceled each without any warning until I showed up on the days of these appointments. Yet a couple of days ahead of each appointment, the office sent one of those stern recordings to my phone saying I had an appointment and I'd be billed if I miss it. On the first canceled visit in mid-2019, I was told he was out-of-town at a medical conference and they thought someone was going to call me that morning to let me know about it (no one had called). Most people traveling out-of-town for a conference have the common sense and courtesy to check their calendar for conflicts and make adjustments accordingly, well ahead of time. That appointment was rescheduled for early 2020. On the second, I called in January 2022 (after covid precautions eased) to make a routine checkup appointment and was told the soonest opening would be in September. I made that appointment, waited the nine months, got the stern recording saying I had better show up or else, yet when I arrived was told he had called in sick that day. The front desk blamed somebody in the back for not giving me a call that morning. I was assured they would be in touch to reschedule. Nevertheless, I called the office several times over the next month and was told each time they were still reworking his missed appointments, and promised I'd be called just as soon as things got sorted. That was six months ago, and I've never heard back about rescheduling. The most charitable description here is that scheduling at the front desk is exceptionally muddled and unreliable. So how can I trust any better level of service back in the examining room? This is a practice that shows little empathy for me personally, and seems uninterested in meeting my basic health care needs.
I have been going to this practice for over 15 years. I have NEVER liked Dr. Adams - he has no bedside manner and personally gives me the creeps. I have, however, liked several of their PAs in the past...but in the last few years it has been a revolving door. All the good ones are gone. Every time I made an appointment, my preferred practitioner was no longer there. That should tell you something. In the most recent case, I moved to Wilmington and tried for 2 weeks to contact them to get them to extend an important RX. I never received a call back. I finally got a hold of someone and they denied it! Now, I have to wait 2 months to get into a new PCP before I can get this important script. They have NO people skills. DO NOT GO HERE!
I've been a patient of this practice since 2011. Things have historically been stable. In the last year we have been assigned 3 different PAs, being informed that our previous provider had left. The practice is proactive in managing my medications and schedules multiple check in yearly. My nine year son wants to marry the "Australian girl" (who I am 99.97% sure is British). She's always been kind and patient with us. When we call for a sick visit we are scheduled same or next day. I don't mind wait time in the waiting room since the quality of the provider visit is excellent. If I had to complain about something... the phlebotomist rarely gets my stick on the first try. But that's probably me, not her. :)
I have been with this practice for years, but have been very disappointed in my recent experiences. Calls are never returned. When an assistant does answer calls, it's with added smarmy remarks. Once after waiting several days for scan results, I called and was told I was impatient. The physician's assistant prescribes way too much medication, which seems to be the only solution for everything. Wait time to be seen is ridiculous. Turnover of staff is high. The list goes on. Gave this place far too many chances to right their wrongs. Currently seeking new primary.
I have never experienced a better health care provider group in 70 years. The staff is knowledgeable, caring, responsive, and effective. They (Sherryl, in particular) respond to phone calls immediately, prioritize visits if urgent, pull up your personal history at every visit, and listen carefully to your concerns. Dr. Adams has been my attentive and brilliant physician for decades, and I have depended on his expertise and guidance for myriad concerns as I have aged. On my most recent visit, I had the good fortune to be treated by Matt (PA) who provided immeasurable support and medical advice that was critical for me to manage a crisis related to surgery that had just occurred. He took his time to answer so many questions, and treated them all as if they were valid and important. He is a treasure among Dr. Adams' competent professionals!
Too many turnovers which lead to PA's not knowing your history and wind up messing with your necessary medications. Can't keep track of patient's correct appointments. Practice not as good as it was years ago.. Hope they can straighten their mess out.
Worst physician ever. Over medicates, misdiagnosis led to the death of a loved one. Unresponsive in times of emergency. Refused to recommend specialists when needed. Only treats the symptoms with pharmaceuticals. Would give ZERO stars if Yelp would allow.
Awesome Dr. All about pain relief.
Just wanted to update this review. I am no longer a patient here as I followed Ed Glaesner FNP to the practice in Fuquay Varina where he is treated with respect and professionalism by the other doctors and staff. I met a few days ago, one of the old front desk girls who used to work there and she eventually left. I was right about the Australian girl at the window. Apparently she has caused a huge ruckus there but everyone in the main office love her, even though there have been complaints against her. They've chosen to keep her and they've lost patients directly related to her. Apparently having patients is no longer a priority to them. I still would NOT suggest this practice. Avoid this office at all costs.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
