List of MIchael O'connell's Reviews
I saw Dr. O'Connell years ago; made a review then about the experience. Again, major nerve issues and so and he said it was all anxiety (and laughed about it) and told me I was too young for MS and refused to help. He had a paper of anxiety symptoms already printed out before my first visit sitting on his desk given he saw on my chart that I have mental health issues. He wouldn't order an MRI or any sort of test and sent me on my way. I had an MRI done ordered from my psych and while I don't have MS; I was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation where my cerebellum is herniated and pressing against my brain stem and spinal cord. So... yeah, anxiety huh?
Never got to see the doctor. Receptionist dropped the phone and then told me he wasn't accepting new patients and hung up on me.
Did not listen, rushed through the appt. Totally missed what my husband was trying to tell him. Put him on a wooden roller type piece of equipment that was very painful. We ended up in the ER a couple days later. My husband had 2 fractures in his spine.
Dr. O"Connell is a great doctor .He always takes his time with you and listens and is concerned about your well fair . Does a great job . I would recommend him to anyone .
I felt I wasn't exactly listened to very well and rushed. Talked over before I could finish; and even told to my face I have more than enough symptoms to consider MS but I was "too young" and it was "too rare" so I "most likely don't have it," and moved on w/o investigating further options. Despite symptoms being overwhelming for over 2 years. Now have pursued a new doctor. O'Connell is nice, but just jumps too quick sometimes and won't let me explain thoroughly; making me feel disregarded.
The office is not dirty, it's just older and could use updating.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
