List of Andrew K Weitzel's Reviews
I was being prepared for surgery and told details about post-surgery that Dr. Weitzel didn't explain to me during the office visit to schedule the surgery. I was upset that I wasn't properly informed about post-surgery pain and care. Weitzel then refused to do the surgery.
I changed doctors after interactions with staff and Dr. Weitzel. The staff always seems overworked and understaffed, short fuses when you call to get problems fixed that were created by the office. Dr. Weitzel placed me on a medication and when I went to another urologist that doctor informed me of risks and unknown side effects of long-term use of the medication, and then diagnosed me correctly with the real cause. I have seen him speak poorly to his office employees and always seems to want to rush you out of the office.
Honestly, I was a bit reluctant about seeing DR WEITZEL, after reading these horrible reviews.I have to say, I was so pleasantly pleased with his bedside manner, his thoroughness, and his making sure that l understood everything he talked to me about!May l also add, he allowed my niece, who is an RN, to attend my appointment via speaker phone, and he answered any questions that she had!!My thoughts on his bad reviews are, you can’t please everyone. Possibly one person didn’t care for him for one reason or another, then had all their friends & family write a bad review of Dr Weitzel. This DOES happen, unfortunately!I totally would refer anyone to him!!
I had an appointment with Dr Weitzel on 1/15/2021. I agree with the other reviewers: he has poor bedside manners. I asked him to write down some instructions for me, since I have a very poor memory. He acted very annoyed with me. I have a follow-up visit with him on 6/15/2021. I'll have to see how he acts this time.
This doctor lacks empathy, compassion, and accountability for anything he does. He ordered a CT scan for my kidney stones and did a procedure that caused me more problems than I had prior. I now have to urinate every 15 min and he told me that must be something else- he did what he was supposed to do. He has a nurse assistant remove the stint- someone not qualified in the least. And the biggie- wait for it... My CT scan had said I have cancer that is in 3 places in my abdomen. He never told me and just charged my insurance company over $20,000 for the procedure that made me worse. He didn't even have the decency to tell me I had cancer- this man does not care about his patients- he does not deserve to be a doctor- I wouldn't let him touch my dog.
This man is not a doctor he sat with me wouldn't listen to a thing i said about the infection i had going in stead he gave me a perscription to mask the problem and sent me on my way no tests no cultures no nothing! I wouldnt waste my time another perscription pusher!
Doctor does not show compassion, patience, and doesn’t care what the patient has to say. He offered no helpful suggestions. Doctor is just there to be that a Doctor. Don’t waste your money.
Called the office on 7/8 to make an appointment as a NEW PATIENT for my husband. I spoke with Tori who said she would return my call no later than the next day (7/9). No phone call back as of 2:00 pm on 7/9. So I called back into the office, again spoke with Tori. She stated she needs to have a release signed by my husband for his medical records and insurance information. Explained to her that there is no medical records or insurance info to obtain and that I just simply needed to make a NEW PATIENT appointment (in which we discussed 7/8 also and informed her of the same). She said let me let you speak with our office manager, Vicki. She put Vicki on the phone, who proceeded to ask me for the SAME info that Tori had, release of medical records, insurance information, etc. I again informed her that there is NONE Of the above to obtain and that I simply needed to make a NEW PATIENT appointment. She then informs me that the Dr declined taking my husband as a new patient and that she could review the info with the Dr and get back with me. What info do you need to review with the Dr?? You have NO Medical records, the Dr hasn't even seen my husband/NEW PATIENT yet. She then proceeds to tell me that she couldn't speak with me and that she needed to speak with my husband... for an APPOINTMENT???? You need to speak with him???? Now I"m a bit confused..... She said that I"m not authorized to received his medical information because he hasn't given them the release to speak with me... What release??? What information do you have, that I don't, since he hasn't even been seen????Needless to say, I hung up and told them that if this is how they handle NEW PATIENTS, then I'd definately find someplace else to go to.The worst part of the whole thing, I have several people that referred me to this Dr, to include a BUSINESS colleague of his, who has now been in touch with him PERSONALLY to let him know of the BUSINESS his OFFICE STAFF, to include his OFFICE MANAGER is NOT accepting on his behalf AND telling patients that the Dr has denied taking the case...... How do you deny taking a CASE when you don't have ANY information regarding the issues. We are talking about a 43 yr old MALE patient who was GOING to be seen by Dr Weitzel, but now due to his OFFICE staff, has lost business. Dr Weitzel, you may want to re-evaluate your staffing situation and perhaps find NEW staff.... these two in your office, Tori & Vicki, are definately not helping your practice, if anything they are loosing you business. If I could put a 0 star rating, I would... however NO STARS is not an option.......
Saw my problem and took care of it for me. Good care and staff.
Dr Weitzel was not only exceptional but his staff was very impressive. From scheduling my appointment to the nurses providing extraordinary care i am happy to have found a Dr who makes a difference this days.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
