I heard that Dr Schaible is retiring is that true or is he just leaving Community Eye Center ?
Dr Schaible and his entire staff are amazing???? They make you feel at ease. The are polite, knowledgeable and just a joy. I would not trust my ?? ?? ?? vision to anyone else.. sincerely Kathy Swofford..
We’ve used Dr Schiable & Dr Simoneau. Today I was suppose to have my eye exam and schedule cataract surgery. Check in told me no charge, then she asked if I wanted a prescription for my glasses. $42. I was shocked they were asking me to pay $42 for a script and then I’m thinking $32 for refraction (cost last time). I have two insurances, the one covers Vision Care Affinity Davis. So $72. It was already past time for my appointment, which is nothing new, even though I arrived 15 mins early. I asked to speak to the office manager & waited and finally left. I came home, & called to find out what was going on. She said prescription & refraction mean the same thing. I don’t know why they decided to start telling us that we were paying for a script, instead of refraction. I’ve asked eight people what they would think if they were told they were being charged for a script & they never heard that before, me either. Office staff, bad info & too long wait times can ruin a doctors office.
I can see clearly now, the rain is gone, I can see all the obstacles in my way Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind It's gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day.
Dr. Schaible is always caring and considerate and a great listener! Will return.
My husband is very pleased with his first visit to Dr. Schaible. He had/has previous cataract & glacoma issues. Dr. Schaible was very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. We were surprised at how long he spent with us considering it was his first appt with the Dr. and towards the end of the day. My husband is glad he found a good here in this area.
Dr. Schaible treated an elderly, handicapped member of my family for cataracts, and did a terrific job. He and the staff at Community Eye Center were kind, caring and thoroughly professional during a difficult and stressful situation.
Went there for my once a year exam against my better judgement. I was told costs are covered by my insurance. Paid my $45 copay and received the exam. Was told they could do a laser correction to one eye and insurance would cover all except $150. I said Ok and came back for the appointment where they wanted me to sign a statement saying I was responsible for cost of $1500 if my insurance did not pay. I refused to sign, I've been bit by that before. They said my insurance would pay. So, no laser.
I had cataract surgery on both eyes done by him. One is perfect the other is a struggle. I am still having issues after a full year and several more procedures. He said it is because the first eye is 20/15 and the other one is not. So I should wear glasses to make up for that when driving and working. I never wore glasses to work only for distance. Now I wear them constantly. :-( That was the original reason for the surgery and all this expense. To alleviate glasses altogether. I had the most expensive lense replacements done and still have to wear glasses to see well. I'd like to know if anyone else has had this type of issue? I'm dealing with it and have bought the glasses but am disappointed. Any thoughts?
A sense of humor, a pleasant manner, obviously competent and caring, takes the time to listen and gives you time to ask questions. I was very impressed with this doctor. The best ever experience I've had with an Ophthalmologist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
