List of Jens C Carlsen's Reviews
My dad saw Dr Carlsen and he came away extremely upset. This doctor had no empathy while giving a serious diagnosis and made jokes about the side effects my father would experience from the treatment. He will be going to a different urologist. If I could give one star, I would.
My husband had the most horrifying experience with this man. If there was a zero star, that’s what he would get. He was horrible, lack of empathy, nasty, uncaring, rude to him and the staff. Truly heartbreaking.
I should've read the reviews before making the appointment. He was uncaring to the reason for my visit and I left there thinking, that was a-first in the level of disrespect I had ever experienced from a doctor.
Beyond unprofessional. Treated father and myself with utmost disrespect. Left office completely offended and will not return. Don’t waste your time, money, energy or emotion.
I wish I didn't even have to give him a star. My husband had his worse experience with this doctor. His words were HORRIBLE!!. He felt this doctor was demeaning like he was wasting his time. No personality at all. After 3 -5 minutes in this doctor office the doctor gave my husband a prescription. and he said "here, take the rx if you want" and he left the office. My husband had questions as any other concerned patient, this doctor acted like he was in a rush.
Waited over an hour to see this doctor. I was told I had the first appointment but apparently so did 4 other people. When he finally came to examine me he made me feel that my complaints were not worth his time. He allowed me to follow him to an appointment desk where he told his nurse to book an appointment for a procedure and I would need two lab tests. This was said in an extremely dismissive manner. When I asked the nurse about the follow up appointment for the test she said it would be the same day. This response was delivered in an arrogant and impatient way. If my problems are that unimportant I will visit a doctor who thinks they are important.
My 81 year old father had just had heart surgery at Bayfront hospital and had complications with his catheter ( it had caused bleeding).Dr. Carlsen was sent to my father as a stand in for his original urologist, Dr. Coronado, for that day.Dr. Carlsen marched into his room and barked at him saying, "you need to make up your mind now whether you want to go back into surgery today to see why you're still bleeding" and yes, he wanted my father to answer him right then and there with ZERO explanation of what the surgery would consist of and what other options he had.My father was shocked and shook up. Thank goodness the nurse on duty was there to experience this and immediately reported him. He was not allowed to enter my fathers room again.Dr. Carlsen's bedside manner is horrid and I truly hope that people continue to write these reviews so others will look elsewhere for their urologist.Dr. Carlsen, you should be ashamed and should not be practicing.
Dr.Carlsen saved my life. I'm not exagerating. I went to several urologists about blood in my urine and they all told me not to worry about it. Dr, Carlsen found that it was cancer in my left kidney and he removed the kidney, no more blood in urine.
Stay Far and Away!!!!!!!!!!!! He is a DO not and MD...... “A D.O. is an osteopathic physician, while an M.D. is a medical doctor, an allopathic physician.” Go to a real doctor..... NOT PLEASANT... NOT FRIENDLY....
Very knowledgeable and takes time to explain issues and various solutions available. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
