Had a great experience with Dr Carlson and his staff. Sabrina was kind enough to make my appointments and Christina gently removed the drain after my procedure. Dr Carlson has fixed my ongoing problem and I would highly recommend him. Mike Daines

I had a referral for Dr. Carleson from my doctor. I called the office the following day to ask about my referral being sent in and to make an appointment and I spoke with Sabrina. She said they hadn’t received my referral yet, so I very simply made the comment, “oh, okay, it was sent in yesterday.” She immediately got a major attitude and tone for literally no reason and said, “MA’AM, we haven’t received it yet and we will call when we will.” I just said, “okay…?”, feeling very confused and frankly insulted. I was very polite and kind to her, so I don’t get it at all. I have tons of respect for receptionists, I worked reception for many years. Based on this interaction with Sabrina and the reviews below of the doctor, I will not be booking an appointment here and I got in with another urologist nearby. Don’t waste your time here, seems the staff is just as awful as the doctor likely is as well. Definitely not a way to conduct a business.

For all of you cry babies out there, get over yourself. He is a doctor, not a babysitter. The negative reviews appear to be mostly from folks that didn't like the prognosis and decided to take it out on Jens in a review. Dr. Carlsen is a top notch doctor and in my recent personal experience he did everything I had expected and more. Consult and surgery were completed without exception. If you want a professional who will be direct and not beat around the bush (no pun intended), look no further than Dr. Carlsen. Hopefully I won't be back, but if I am, I hope he is still practicing!

It's the worst of the worst.

If I could I would give a lower rating. Follow up after a surgical procedure lasted approximately 3 minutes. I told him I had a lot of pain, and there was blood in my urine. He told me that was normal, and sent me on my way. I guess his bank account is more important to him than his patients.

waited 15 minutes prior to check-in. Was then taken to an examination room where I sat for 40 minutes prior to actually seeing Dr. Carlsen. He told me to drop my pants and bend over, then checked checked my prostate. Fortunately it was ok. He was in the room no more than 4 minutes and left to see the next patient. Not a bad gig for my $40 copay + whatever my insurance paid him.

I like my new urologist Dr. Carlsen. Cancer is never an easy subject, but I crave honesty and, he’s honest. He and the staff are all friendly and they understand this stuff is not fun- they show respect and answer all the questions you need to hear. Thanks!

Dr Carlsen and his Nurse took my catheter out after 5 months and made me a man again. Wasn't sure I liked him when I first met him but now I am smiling and doing the happy dance. I shook his hand when I left his office and told him that I was blessed 2 have met him. I am a lucky man. The staff at Fawcett Hospital treated me like a King. I give them both 5 stars!! Thanks

I’m having a hard time coming up with something positive. He has a nice smile. He and his staff suck at everything basically. I would NOT recommend unless you are desperate.
