Is an excellent physician. Both caring and compassionate he takes the time to understand his patients and works hard to find the best course of treatment. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.
Wow! I just called Dr. Gonzalez' office and the phone sounded dead so I called back and the office lady was so rude to me for calling back. All she had to do is say please hold, no problem but she was so rude!!!! Canceled my husband's appt and would have either way. When I said that to the office worker she said take it however you want, alot going on here. RUDE, RUDE RUDE! The Dr. Should realize that his staff is a reflection on him which is a shame because he may have been a good dr but will NEVER go to him
His staff is amazing...A family member has been going there for a few years. They are sufficient, patient & kind. I work in the healthcare industry. It's very seldom you experience this. A matter a fact more often than not. It tends to be quit the opposite. Not only do I highly recommend the Dr, & therapist. I also recommend the remaining staff as well
Doctor stands behind his staff, which is great except when they are wrong. I was overcharged by $125 for an office visit. When I questioned it I was told I didnt know what I was talking about. After speaking with FL Blue they were overcharging me and do not know how to code a bill. My EOB clearly states $35 copay and you charged me $160. Then you expect me to have an insurance rep call you and train you how to do your job! What customer service! I was sent a refund and a letter by thr doctor expressing I am not welcome as a patient anymore. There is a reason for less than satisfactory reviews! I was also hung up on when I told her I was going to bill them my hourly rate for having to do the leg work for them!
I have only been to him once and actually I'm very much looking forward to my second visit tomorrow. I felt this doctor knew his stuff and was very professional, nice and so were the staff. The past 2 years have been the worst years of my life and when I say I could make a movie out of it I could. I've bared more than any woman should ever have to or I'd ever want anyone to. From depression, can't sleep,That feeling of being in an enclosed dark tunnel with an elephant on your chest, seeing stars like your going to faint and breathes harder and harder tontake,I went to the hospital twice thinking I was having a heart attack but assured it was just the worst panic attack..Single mother recently went completely blind in my right eye with no known reason (the fears with a mystery eye loss sucks knowing what if it happens to your other.fears grow on top of others like bacteria) & i proudly raise an amazing, loving Beyond Gifted ...but non the less a 4 yr old child with explosive High functioning autism and is a run risk.a 14-year-old who has attempted suicide due to us losing everything we ever knew in Hurricane ian trees imploded the house every window broke and front door blew down. 2 days after she was released from this hospital to help her we lost her grandfather who was my everything. And that last incident happened after I saw the dr but I have full confidence on him and I do think I might have to make tweaks to meds but either way he's worth seeing when you have a story like mine,he's out there for help...don't drug seek because those who are don't even have problems half the time and make it hard for drs to really listen and care. So these other reviews I think personally so far are a crock of poo .if things change I'll update but I have faith that God put me in his office for a reason.
Very poor excuse of a doctor and his staff. I'm a Marine Corps veteran that suffers from PTSD and other mental health issues and I'm being treated by the VA. However, I wanted a second opinion from a private doctor. My personal medical doctor referred me to Dr. Gonzales, (Same medical group) but it took me nearly two months to get in to see Dr. Gonzales. When I showed up, 20 minutes prior to appointment, I did not have my personal insurance card with me, so, the staff cancelled my appointment. So, what this tells me is that this Doctor and his staff care more about being paid than the health of the patients. With that attitude he should not be considered for referral by anyone. While I offered to make other arraignments to get my insurance card to them, none were accepted. I was canceled because I lacked a piece of paper. (FYI, I was up at 3:30 AM to 8:30 AM hunting for my insurance card, my wife is on vacation in Iowa to return in three days, but they refused to wait for that health care card. and cancelled my appointment)

Long story, so bare with me. I was seeing the nurse practitioner and therapist for a good amount of time, and truly liked both of them. They helped me so much. The office staff is a HUGE problem. They are very dismissive, lack empathy and communication skills, which I think is probably important when dealing with mental health patients. I was put on a new medication and had a follow up appointment about 6 weeks after the new meds were started. Needless to say, I needed a refill before my next office visit, so I called the office and requested a refill. After checking with my pharmacy the next day, they informed me nothing was sent over. I called the office to let them know the pharmacy didn’t have the order. I was told that my prescription was called in and maybe the pharmacy didn’t have the meds at their location. 4 phone calls back and forth on a hectic busy day at work got a bit annoying. During that time, they called my prescription in. Out of frustration, I told them their office staff sucked. I take full responsibility for what I said. Ok, got my meds, fast forward to two weeks for my appointments to check to see how the meds were effecting me. I left work early, but was running late so I called to see if I could do a phone appointment. I was told I didn’t have an appointment. Ok…? Two days later I leave work early for therapy. I get there, sign in and was told I didn’t have an appointment. I asked if I was terminated from their service, no answer, but I’ll be receiving a letter. We all know what that means. It’s been almost a year, and I’m still waiting for that letter. In the mean time, I call, and they let me make an appointment with the NP. Yay!!! Again, I leave work early, sign in, sit in the waiting room for 20 minutes, only to be called up to the desk and told the NP is never in the office on that day. I ask again if I’m being terminated from their service, no answer. I was basically ghosted by my mental health care provider. I struggled for months after with my mental health and was suicidal three times. Luckily, I found a great nurse practitioner in a different office. Good luck out there!
Dr. Canal and his staff are wonderful and caring people. He is the best psychiatrist I have been to. He is compassionate, kind, and always listens to me and gives me sound advice.
I think he is a caring doctor, who listens, is attentive and I highly recommend him. I have been going to him for approximately ten years.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
