List of Lenita Hanson's Reviews
Recommended by my PCP, the office made an appt 3 months in advance , called to confirm 5 days before then 2 days before called to suggest I go elsewhere because by September they will be a cash only, no insurance office. After having me fill out the online paperwork. Something is wrong here!!
Called the day of my appointment to cancel because they couldn't get my medical record from my previous doctor. Good thing I wasn't dying or at least not yet
The PA is amazing. The front desk staff needs a course in client facing etiquette. By far the most reprehensible people in this office. As if going to an Endo isn't stressful enough, you have to deal with nasty attitude. Update: Looking for a new doctor.
Receptionist very rude and ignorant the few times I got a chance to speak with her said she'll call me back and never does 3 months I've been waiting for return phone call was just told this past Monday that my records had to be sent my doctor sent the records right over she was supposed to call me within 24 to 48 hours and I still haven't gotten an appointment receptionist complained to me she had to answer the phones and make appointments isn't that her job
Wow, the women who called to schedule my appt was so disrespectful! Unbelievable
Hands down most rude office staff I have ever ever worked with. On the two occasions I was able to get through to someone I’ve had the painful experience of speaking with Bridget. She scoffed at my request to fax my records to another physician. She literally huffed and puffed as if I was a total inconvenience to her. The physician never received the requested paperwork either mind you. On the last occasion I had some questions to which she responded “are you going to argue with me or do you want me to schedule you?!” In the most condescending and rude attitude. I was simply asking her a question. If you like being treated as an inconvenience and spoken down to like a child then this is the office for you.
Not happy was charged more than my copay receptionist asked me a question regarding my card I said why don't you call them you guys have a Hotspot number easy call to figure my copay. She stated if I see a price on card I charge if they dont I don't charge I called my insurance and asked and they stated I should of payed 80$ less not happy I called yo get refund back and she stated I can't im taking patients they barely had a
My fsther had been comjng here for a while. Pleasant staff.
My son is a college student in Deland and has had difficulty scheduling a follow-up appointment in the time-table set by Dr. Hanson's practice. He changed his travel plans for coming home for Christmas and called to reschedule his appointment from Dec. 16 to Mar. 5, the next available when he would be home from college but still within a year of his last visit. He will run out of medicine at the end of December, however, and Dr. Hanson offered him a "courtesy" refill of 30 days, knowing full well that this would not get him to his March 5 appt. He will be without medication, as far as Dr. Hanson cares, for all of February and the beginning of March. They claim legal constraints on prescribing for patients they haven't seen for six months, but this is simply not true. My physicians do not hesitate to give me refills for a year (or more, on occasion). As her nurse said, however, getting patients in is how they get paid. Unconscionable, not to get him through to his appointment! (Update: Part of the problem here is that Dr. Hanson's office did not process the results of the extensive tests my son had done at LabCorp on March 5, 2019 on her orders immediately after his last visit! So she has treated him as a person who never followed up and now will not acknowledge either the circumstances or her office's responsibility.)
Although this doctor might be good if your going there for your Diabetes, but from my experience, you can find a more suitable doctor if you looking for a thyroid specialist. I was having some throat issues and happened to be at my PCP for an unrelated follow up and my PCP scheduled an ultrasound for me. Had the ultrasound and the results suggested I have a biopsy done. Scheduled to follow up with this doctor on 9/12/19 and when I got there, the ARNP walked in and didn't know why I was there, didn't know I had just had labs done, didn't know that I just has the ultrasound done and that I even needed a biopsy. She brushed off my symptoms like I was making them up. She then went to get the doctor to get her opinion. Once the doctor came in, she said very quickly, "yes, you need a biopsy. I have already reviewed your records and that's what I suggest." so I scheduled with her to do it in her office 10/08/19. Come to that appointment and after 30 mins of waiting the nurse brings be back to do my vitals, as i'm passing the hallway the doctor stops me and asks why I was there for, long story short, she didn't know that I was there for the biopsy. Didn't know why size my nodules were, why I needed one. So she fired up her 1990's ultrasound machine (extremely outdated), said she didn't see any nodules. I told her I was going to get a second opinion because I have had numerous ultrasounds for over 5 years watching these nodules... fast forward to yesterday 10/30/19 I went to Tampa General to their thyroid specific specialist and had a biopsy done. Came back for Papillary Thyroid Cancer. If Dr. Hanson specialized that much in thyroids, she would known something was wrong back in January when my thyroid globulin antibodies were abnormal, and she should have taken my symptoms seriously with my Hashimoto's that I was showing the signs of thyroid cancer. This office staff and doctors are extremely unorganized and not equip to handle thyroid patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
