HORRIBLE PHONE SERVICES.. MAN WAS VERY IMPERSONAL RUDE SHORT UNCARING DONT GO TO THIS ER ALSO HAVE BEEN THERE WAS TOLD IT WAS A COLD SENT HOME.. WEEK LATER FOUND OUT IT WAS STOMACH ULCERS.... LAZY DOCTORS WHO WANT ANY PAY CHECK .
This hospital has the absolute worst emergency room. The wait yesterday was 7 hours. Today there were 2 people ahead of us and we waited in the waiting room 2 hours and we left AGAIN. I understand how the system runs however if your system is not working for all involved including the patient then the system needs to be changed. In 2019 my daughter had Covid 19 and they told her there was nothing wrong with her. Get your act together Port Orange Halifax
I was admitted last week due to possible heart issues. I had gone to Advent twice previously and they dismissed me and sent me home saying I had asthma issues. Dr. Wysocki was amazing as well as all of the staff there they actually listened and I am thankful they did. I ended up having narrowing of the arteries and high blood pressure. My concerns were taken seriously. I was transported later to Halifax main where I received the same care. Josh and Josie with Dr. Shah in the catheterization OR were all just as amazing. The nurses at both hospitals were so attentive as well.
NP Clarissa is very unprofessional and didn’t care about her patient today. Walked out when patient’s medical proxy was asking questions because she couldn’t answer a question.
Leaving a one star review is not something I ever do....but they were very rude when I called and very rude at check in. It’s stressful when a loved one is ill and you’re just trying to get them some help. They’re very busy so I am sure they’re all just over it but a little courtesy is very simple especially when I was extremely nice and polite and not pushy at all.
I went to the Halifax Health Medical Center this morning with a deep puncture wound in my foot. The entire experience from checkin to treatment to discharge was excellent. Every staff member and doctor who worked with me was pleasant professional proficient and kind. In reading the other reviews it seems like most of the people who have submitted reviews were ones with negative comments. Because I had a such a good experience I felt it was important to share. I hope not to need urgent medical care in the future but if I do this will be my emergency room of choice. Thank you Halifax Port Orange . Donald Taylor
I have been to this ER twice both times I was never called back and after 4 hours of waiting I gave up and went to a different hospital. I also noticed dried blood on the floor. The bathroom had blood on the door handle and in the floor. No toilet paper or paper towels. It was very nasty. The wheel chair was also dirty not wiped down between patients and extremely uncomfortable. The chairs are also miserably uncomfortable. No vending machines that I could find. It looks like it never ever gets cleaned. Pathedic
My mother was recently admitted through the ER at Halifax Port Orange. Everyone was thorough professional and polite even though the hospital was experiencing a surge in patient volume. Jason and Courtney in the ER were welcoming and took great care of my mom. On the third floor Priscilla and Aszia were great and very caring again even though both had a very busy day. Finally Dr Chodas was amazing taking the time to explain everything. He was everything you would hope a doctor would be kind and compassionate and patient. It was a scare but the staff was great. The kind of care you give to patients when you are busy tells what kind of hospital you really are. Good job Halifax P.O.
I had arrived to meet my daughter who was just admitted due to a dog attack. I had received permission from the nurse in the front desk holding area and was allowed into the ER holding rooms through an automatic locking door with a window from which I had rang her. When I asked for directions to my daughters holding area I was told I needed to have a visitors pass. Thinking they could fulfill that requirement I gladly said ok do you have one? Instead I was escorted back out to the empty security desk by head nurse Melinda OHearn. I expressed that under the circumstances it would nice to at least see my daughter and let her know were there possibly getting clearance a different way or leave to get the badge after seeing her. In Melindas small and finite professional ability I was escorted all the way back out front and told someone would be there shortly. 15 minutes goes by and still noone showed to give us clearance. I went back to the locked door and window and called the nurses station again and inform them that no one has arrived to give us clearance. At that point they allowed my wife to go back with absolutely no security clearance. Needless to say according to them I was a little bit peeved at MS OHerns complete lack of concern inability to recognize the situation and handle it in a professional manner...and they were correct I gave them two stars because at least the Doctor was able to bandage up my daughters wounds write a prescription for antibiotics as well as call Animal Control to report the incident. Come to find out theres been multiple reports to animal control on the dog which is now under quarantine as it had no vaccinations. This wasnt a simple my kids not feeling well it was traumatic incident and for Miss OHern to handle it like this is well simply unprofessional.
During a scary time of COVID pandemic while a lot of people were staying home safe a group of hero’s on the front line at Halifax Health Port Orange were there for me. I was seen in December for COVID complications and received excellent care. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Port Orange Halifax.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
