List of Ruben J Lopez's Reviews
I have tried and tried to give Dr. Lopez a chance. Every time I have brought my children in he says they have allergies and that nothing is going on. The last time I brought my sick son in with a terrible sore throat and fever Dr Lopez looked in throat and gave a strep test and said…. It’s just allergies. The test came back negative continue on allergy meds. My son was so sick and I wasn’t comfortable with the diagnosis that was given so I took him to twilight pediatrics and as soon as they looked in his throat they knew immediately he has strep! The strep test also came back positive! It’s very scary to know that a pediatrician and a student of his both missed my sons illness. I won’t be returning to Dr. Lopez. The nurse and receptionist are awesome and I will miss them!
Dr. LOPEZ is a great Pediatrician. He is great with my son and my 2.5 year old is never scared to go to the doctor's office. As forst time parents he answers every question, which I have to take out my phone to remember them all. He is straight and to the point which gives you a sense of reassurance. Hope he stays in practice for years to come!
He is a great Dr. My 3 kids go there, he is like family to us!
I absolutely love the staff. Everyone makes you feel so welcomed and not like a bother for asking a hundred questions. Always accomodating with school, and just so friendly. They all take such good care of my child's health.
We have been going to this practice with my child since they were a newborn. We always were lucky enough to see the NP Kayla who we LOVE but in the last few months have been having appointments with Dr. Lopez. I have never been more disappointed. Each time we come in I feel like I am a burden and that I am dumb for even questioning if my child is sick. We have been SEVERAL times and left with no diagnosis as my child has a fever and is coughing with green mucus, and had to go to an urgent care to receive an actual diagnosis. Recently a medical student was performing an assessment on my child and was having difficulty getting them to open their mouth, Dr. Lopez barked “nothing is wrong move on” which made the student flustered and made me very angry. Currently my child has been sick for a month and we were prescribed a cough syrup, I gave it correctly as the label stated and soon after my child was in a deep sleep and I became very concerned. I looked to reputable resources including children's hospitals as well as a pharmacology textbook which indicated the dose we were prescribed was double what it should be. I closely monitored my child and returned to the office in the morning to be told the dose was “fine” and there was no problem. Fast forward to last night we finally had enough and took my child to an after hours pediatric urgent care and were quickly informed the doses of medication we were given were incorrect and we were prescribed four new CORRECT medications to correct our ongoing issue that didn’t seem to phase Lopez. As someone who works in the medical field myself, I am absolutely upset with the treatment we have received from Dr. Lopez. We will be leaving his office. The only thing that has kept us this long was his NP Kayla and the friendliness of the staff.
Absolutely amazing team! From making an appointment, the receptionist, nurse, and Doctor. Walked in and did not have time to sit, and called into the back. Everything is so fast. We spent more time speaking with Dr. Lopez, than any other part of our visit. You feel like you are speaking with a friend. I highly recommend Dr. Lopez and the whole team!
This is a review from an actual patient of his. I had dr Lopez from when I was in 4th grade. He has been a wonderful pediatrician to me. When I'd go to the er just to be shut down for a sinus infection I'd go to dr Lopez and he'd prescribe me the right antibiotics for what I need. This doctor is a truly caring doctor. He'll give you the right advice for your child
He is not a dr for kids. He is super rude and does not take the time for your children. I just changed drs to Ormond pediatrics and they actually care about my child and will sit and talk with you. He yelled at my child one time because he was crying due to his ear infection and he told me maybe if you baby stops crying I can hear you and That was just the one of many. I was trying to give him another chance but that was it for me. He told me he sent in his prescription to the pharmacist and I had to call him three times to ask him why it has not been sent yet and the last time was I’m sorry I forgot. That’s just wrong. Sorry I would never refer him for a Dr. for kids.
My child went to go see Dr. Lopez, he barely glanced over her stated there is drainage in the back of her throat, which all the other doctors we’ve seen said means there is a sinus infection. He said there is nothing he can do for her and deemed it a cold and told us that she should “go back to school and INFECT the other children.” Then she got worse and they still won’t do anything unless they see her again. Why? So they can do nothing to help her AGAIN?! The last time they did this she ended up in the hospital with pneumonia because they didn’t do their job. I don’t know if I am getting this treatment because my child is covered through Medicaid or what, but this is unacceptable and to say for a sick child to just infect other kids is HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!
Will never bring my child here again, drove over an hour to be here, scheduled an appt for a simple vaccine yet forced me to have a full check up even though I was just there less than a month ago. Even though my time was stretched thin they continued to make me wait out of spite because I was upset they were forcing me to do something I shouldn’t have had to do. One star for staff being completely rude.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
