Wonderful practice, from the lady at the front desk to Dr. Mahfood and all in between. I get 2 reminders before my appt., the wait times are not bad, everyone has a good disposition and the doctor is very thorough, he is definitely not one to rush you out.
A kind, knowledgeable and thorough doctor. Takes time with each patient. Always pleasant and able to answer questions and explain diagnosis.
Complete waste of my time and effort. This egotistical doctor never asked me what had worked for me in the past and then made me his guinea pig for the new drug Quviviq which should never have been approved by the FDA. Again, what a complete waste of my time.
Dr Mahfood is an excellent physician in every sense of the word. Extremely smart in both medicine and in handling people. My wife is his patient, and I look at him as saving her life.
He is the first Dr I could find when I moved to fl. I think he is wonderfull. He explains thing and makes you understand you problem. The only thing I would say would be waiting times are occasionally long. But other than that he is a great Dr.
Dr. Mahfood is knowledgeable in all phases of health issues besides rheumatology. He has spoken to me about my neck surgery, my diet, sugar intake, etc. He is one of the few doctors who know of my Pompe disease. I am lucky to have such a scholarly physician..
The office staff is very friendly and I love the new office. Doctor Mahfood is the best rheumatologist in town.
This Dr treated my daughter’s mother with the upmost disregard to her concerns and health. Do not go.
This doctor is unpleasant, unprofessional, and egotistical. He won't listen to you, cuts you off, and just talks over you. Bedside manner non-existent. My mother went for her first patient visit and left in tears, feeling awful about herself. Having suffered from years of pain from GBS and now unofficially* diagnosed with lupus, she gets called a drug addict or that she's drug seeking because she needs answers for her chronic pain and ailment. He denies her pain, saying that GBS is not painful. It makes me wonder if he truly does understand the anatomy and patho of GBS - how debilitating it is and how badly the nerves are damaged. He also questioned if my mom had GBS to begin with, threatening to call up Lawnwood for records AS IF she were to lie about being on life support and the trach and stomach tube scars she bores. I sure as hell remember at ten years old when I said goodbye to my mother in the ED Lawnwood department because I was too young to be seeing her for months in the ICU
The worst doctor I have seen. Dr. Mahfood thinks very highly of himself and isn’t afraid to let you know. He speaks poorly of every other doctor you are seeing. He speaks over the patient and does not listen to what they are saying. He feel’s qualified to treat all issues you have and changes medications prescribed by other physicians. After following his instructions exactly for treatment of an issue I did not go to see him for ( it was being managed by my primary care physician) I am now in a worsened condition. He says he has a treatment plan for the issue I went to see him for that he won’t discuss currently, and he will discuss it upon the next visit which is 6 weeks away. The secretary is very rude over the phone. When I called the office to change my appointment due to having COVID she began to lecture me about it being a burden to reschedule an appointment. While I was in the waiting room (Dr. Mahfood was running 45 minutes late) she was busy conducting her personal business.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
