I highly recommend Dr. Davis. He is personable, listens attentively, and explains clearly the options. Should I ever need the skills of an orthopedic surgeon again, I would not hesitate to seek his help.

He did a total knee replacement on me in 2019. I developed an infection in Bayfront Hospital Punta Gorda. They refused to listen to me and said I was already released anyway and kicked me out. Home healthcare came two days later, saw how high my fever was and that my leg was swelling. They took pics and sent them to Dr. Davis and begged him to readmit me but he blamed it on me claiming I wasn’t exercising it enough or icing it enough. Two more days go by and home health came again. This time I was swollen from toes to groin with pitting edema and a fever over 102. Again they took pics, sent them to him and begged him to admit me. His office called the next day and said to go to Er. I didn’t want to go back to PG, wanted to go to one across the street but they said he insisted. When I got there, instead of the direct admit I expected I was shocked to find they were not expecting me! He sent me there like I had a cold!! They had to do a lot of testing and finally got my PCP to admit me. I was in for a week and needed 10 rounds of the most potent IV antibiotic to overcome the infection. In the meantime I was begging the hospital for PT so my knee would work properly but I was ignored. It took Dr. Davis 3 days to finally see me in the hospital. He again blamed me for the infection, this time saying I had ice burn. I told him I’m from Maine and I know ice burn and the scarring that now went from my knee down the outside of my right leg to mid calf and encompassed an area 8” long and abt 3” wide (which is permanent). I ended up with scar tissue across the top of my knee that prevents me from bending it much and the replacement has failed. I wasn’t surprised when he left for the east coast when I started hearing complaints from people in my building and in the community.

Short tempered if questioned. AFTER procedure which didn't work he said it only works 70% of the time. When I asked if I would pay only 70% of the bill, he hit the roof.

Had partial knee replacement recently with Doctor Davis.....received excellent diagnosis, outstanding surgical and after care.

I saw Dr. Davis a while back when I was having a hard time walking. My primary care doc ordered the CT scan and I had an appointment with Dr. Davis to read the results. He seemed more interested in cracking jokes than providing medical care. He never even conducted any range-of-motion assessment and barely touched my leg. It was basically, "you're fine, ice your knee." When the pain hadn't subsided some weeks later, I went to another orthopod who quickly found a ligament tear on the same CT scan.

Dr Davis gave me a complete new knee two years ago.I went back complaining for two years because of constant pain.I trusted him when he told me it takes time to heal.That's when I sought the second third fourth opinion.All three surgeons told me I needed a new knee.I went back to Davis showed him reports from three surgeons and he still denied that there was anything wrong with knee.I am still in life altering pain.

I had a very good knee replacement with no issues. My recovery was very quick and I was back to normal in only a few months. Good bedside manners too.

Frankly, I think this Doctor is very gifted. He did my right knee, and I am going to have my left done next month. If you are expecting the knee to perform as it did when you were 10, it is not going to happen. But if you want a competent, caring doctor and a dedicated staff both at his office and at Bayfront, then sign up. And no matter what anybody says, the rehab is not fun. But it is worth it.
