Dr Whelan is great. He takes his time to understand you as a patient and ensures everything is clearly explained.The office is convenient and the staff is top notch. Every member of staff Ive met has been attentive and focused.

My husband and I had Dr Whelan as our primary doctor when he was at Novant in Durham. He was great. We really missed him when he left the practice.

Dr. Whelan provided compassionate and professional care for my father who had suffered from having a Stroke and Vascular Dementia. He was always patient caring and treated my family member with respect and dignity despite his often disorganized thought process and responses. Sadly during this COVID pandemic my fathers dementia progressed rapidly and he succumbed to this horrible disease a few months ago. Dr. Whelans phone call to offer his condolences and gratitude for the time that he took care of my dad brought me to tears. Im forever grateful for the care that my father received at North Raleigh Primary Care and highly appreciative of Dr. Whelan and the staff.

I drive by 200 doctors to get to see him. I think that pretty much says it all. I am over 80 yrs old and have seen dozens of Doctors in new york and North Carolina and he is the best of them all.

I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appt. Parking was packed and I need Handicapped parking. After driving around I eventually found a space and had to walk twice as far as my doctor recommends due to my handicap. Arriving on time but not early as was requested for a first visit the staff were nice. I heard this doctor tell the receptionist to put the next two patients ahead of me leaving me waiting well past the appt. time. When I finally got into the exam room he was fifteen minutes late. Then he was rude dismissive and lectured me about being on time because HIS TIME was valuable.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this practice and Dr. Whelan. I am a nurse for a patient at this practice and I was blown away by how quickly they responded to my concerns. Sherie was incredibly kind every time we spoke and Dr. Whelan contacted me directly less than 2 hours after I left a message for him. I highly recommend this practice

Excellent staff and quality care Ive going to Dr. John Whelan for several years and have been very happy with the quality of care he and his staff have provided. Wouldnt go anywhere else.

Dr. Whelan expressed concern about my weight in a caring way and did not make be feel ashamed or embarrassed. I can tell that he genuinely cares for his patients. He also got me on the right medication to help my Depression and Anxiety THE FIRST TIME. I know some people who have been switch from medication to medication trying to find the right fit but he was able to get it right the first time. Thank you Dr. Whelan

As a collaborating provider over time I have found Dr. Whelan to be a wellinformed thoughtful and caring physician. He does an excellent job of treating complex chronic conditions and helping his patients understand the factors that contribute to their health. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a primary care physician.
