Dr. Natalie Lama Monticciolo Do's Online Review Report Card

I am extremely disappointed in this practice. I am an RN and very well versed in how medical facilities should operate. Let me start off with the good things about this practice. The staff was very friendly and accommodating when I made my appointment. The person I am extremely disappointed in was Dr. Monticello herself. She made me wait well over an hour for this appointment. New patient, not a great start. My time is as valuable as yours. Secondly, she came in never introduced herself or the two other people with her. She rushed through the mentioned issues I was referred there for, took a brief look for one area, she did examine the scalp and did a quick full body check. I had to aggressively push her attention to an area that had significantly changed I was worried about. She said it was a scar. I had to correct her in what it actually was. She then did a biopsy. (Staff was nice enough to make a follow up call about it). She was not paying any attention to any of the actual symptoms I was describing. She did make sure to tell me at least 10x to wear sunscreen with zinc. I kept reassuring her I did. Any sun spots she saw where from previously. I also wanted to discuss facial laser or IPL treatment. It was written down. She never did and left the room. The advice given regarding scalp was completely ridiculous as I have already discussed with other physician friends as well as the products she referred me to use. Daily use of Head and Shoulders on curly hair. Destructive. No respect for any medical expertise. No reason to treat a patient with such disregard. I don't leave many reviews, especially negative against a physician but this waswarranted. I already have an appointment with another Dermatologist.

I'm really not sure why there are so many bad reviews, although I notice a lot of them are from years ago! I absolutely love this place, Dr. Monticciolo and her staff. They are always very nice and friendly to me. It is also very clean. The only thing I wondered is if all the surgeries that I've had for abnormal moles were needed, but I trust the doctors. I even had to have a surgery on a mole that was close to my tattoo and it doesn't even look botched when she was done, which I was very happy about. She could've easily just cut right into my tattoo and left a chunk of it gone, but how she stitched it up was amazing! I would recommended this place to anyone.

IF YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT GOING HERE READ THIS REVIEW- Please be careful is your considering going to Prestige Dermatology. Natalie Monticiollo has proven to my family that she does not know what she’s doing and dangerously prescribes topical creams that have left extreme scarring due to her negligence. She seems to care more about how she looks then the well being of her patients. Even after being notified of the topical cream having bad side effects, we TRUSTED her opinion to keep using it which in turn only made the problem get to the point of almost being in the hospital. A mild acne problem turned into having open sores on his back for MONTHS and LIFELONG SCARRING from the experience. After calling the office numerous times about the emergency and being blown off , we switched doctors and FINALLY his acne started to get a little better until over a long time it has faded to just the scars. When a patient comes to you Natalie, they are putting their well being in your hands and it just seems like you could couldn’t care less about what happens to them after your paid. Your bedside manner isn’t great, but if you were a great doctor it wouldn’t matter , but you’re really NOT. Hopefully someone will sue you to the point of losing your business so you can’t do this to anyone else. Also from reading other reviews and peoples experiences in your office, you do this a lot. Reporting you to the right people is going to be the first step in making your actions right. Also read other reviews if you’re a potential patient of hers , you’ll see we’re not the only family who has been hurt by her.

Went to have a couple of moles biopsied and removed. Needed two biopsied and wanted to schedule to have them both removed at the same time and they gave me the excuse that it’s too much anesthesia at one time. That’s bogus. It’s just lidocaine, it’s not like I’m getting put under with general anesthesia. It’s a local anesthesia and in no way would it be too much, she just wants to bill my insurance twice and make me pay two copays. When I went to get the first one removed it was relatively quick but the second time I was face down on the table for over an HOUR before she finally came in to remove the mole. After the procedures I was left with large unsightly scars on my back. And then I wanted to schedule my stitches to be removed 10 days later and was told that they need to stay in for a minimum of two weeks, which is fine but they had no appointments in that time frame so they wanted to schedule my stitches to be removed 21 days after the procedure! That’s completely insane. There’s a reason people call her “Zorro”. You’ve been warned.

I've been going to Dr. Natalie for years and I personally love her..she's an amazing dermatologists and her staff is too. The office is also impeccable. I have a very low tolerance for pain and she was great with me. I have had a pre cancerous mole removed and most recently another one as well as one that was cancerous above my top lip. I didn't want a scar..so she did a lip flip so to speak and pulled my lip up over the scar. I am very pleased to have had her do this for me. It looks great. She is the best around here...period!!! If you had a bad experience..I cannot relate.

The staff yelled at everything that bothered them such as me reading what I’m signing to my recollection of events not being clear. I begun to wonder if they understood that I’m the consumer and not them.

My first visit was promising but clearly went no where. Sold expensive face products that made me break out and itch with hives. When informed them of such, they told me to use less. Dr. Monticciolo canceled my appointment twice with no explanation. Returned back and I am checked and given more creams and told to apply and return. Seriously, nothing changed with my adult acne and the office staff are a bit harsh. Located an amazing dermatologist in Valrico and while it is a long road trip, within two visits my face has cleared up more than 75%. I would never recommend Prestige Dermatology.

Went here years ago, I have lots of benign moles, they were very good, and would freeze them off during my visits. Now have rude staff, Allison worked on me, cut one mole off for biopsy. Gave me shot for numbing pain, then proceeded to start cutting right away before shot had time to work. EXTREMELY PAINFUL!!! She didn't want to freeze off many moles, finally got her to freeze a few, but didn't do any on my face or neck. I won't be going back here.

Took them 6 days to sign a doc note to fax to my doc office, When it was sposed to be done at the doc visit, that said my son was fine which he not he has to go to surgery. Giving my doc office attitude, would not give me a copy of my son report.

Went in to have something removed 2 years ago and she removed something else. Havent gone back and wont be returning.
