Florida Medical Clinic's Online Review Report Card

I wish there was an option for zero stars Ive always like them and thought they were great until I got Covid. I was hospitalized for 3 weeks and of course followed up with my primary. She wasnt available but I saw Dr Julia who is fantastic. Since I was going to be out for at least a month I started my short term disability. The insurance company said they sent it several times but received no response. I mentioned it to Dr Julia during one of my appointments and she gave me the fax number so I could verify they were sending it to the correct fax. Come to find out they had the wrong number so once they got the right number they faxed the paperwork. I called a few days later to make sure they received it and they said yes. Great can finally start getting paychecks because hey I now have medical bills on top of my regular bills . This week the office called to say they have my paperwork but cant submit it because they dont do that. No explanation just they dont do that. So now Im losing 6 weeks of pay thanks to their refusal to submit paperwork. Despite the fact that I wasnt working and hadnt received a paycheck in 6 weeks I made sure they got paid. Unfortunately they couldnt show the same respect. I guess since they got their money they didnt give a damn that I didnt get mine. Sucks to pay for short term disability for 25 years and the 1st time you need to use it youre denied because your doctors office is either lazy incompetent or just doesnt care. I really liked Dr Julia but Ill be finding a new doctor because its unacceptable that they treat a patient like this. I dont recommend this facility to new patients and will definitely be letting the current patients know how they can expect to be treated if theyre ever in the same position. Covid sucks but Family Medical Center in Riverview sucks even more.

Wish I remembered everyone’s name I do remember Julia The front desk and everyone I came in contact with was amazing. It is very rare that an entire staff is as impressive as this one Hats off to the employees here It actually was an enjoyable experience and I’m thankful that I found the office when I did. I have been receiving care here since the early 90s The care has always been very good for me. Also the past few times in coming to the office to see the doctor the reception team in the front was great and reminded me of when I first started seeing the doctor. I greatly appreciate the entry into the office being welcoming since this sets up the rest of the visit which seeing the doctor is sort of stressful for me I appreciate the care that has been given over the past 30 plus years

Expect to wait at least an hour even though you have appointment

They always seem to be running behind. You show up early for your appointment but you spend most of the time waiting in the waiting room and brought back much later after your scheduled appointment time.... and then when you go back you spend even more time waiting in the room for the doctor to show up. This hurts people who have to get back to work or those who cant afford to take a whole day off.If there was another Florida medical clinic in the area I would go there. Ive had good experiences at their other offices but this one just cant seem to get the wait times down to a reasonable window.

Unless you are an established patient who comes in regularly this practice will not schedule an appointment for a specific problem without a new patient appointment first. It may be necessary for patients with existing conditions but for healthy patients its a waste of time and money. Very disappointing. And judging by reviews customer service is not a priority for this practice.

Very Disappointing I wish I read reviews before coming. Dr Vanessa Sarquis absolutely doesnt care about the patients. My husband and I went for yearly check ups. She was always in hurry literally was holding her hand on the doors handle. Whole visit took about 5 minutes follow up even less. When you trying to ask questions she starts to interrupt and run away. Also they charged our insurance incorrectly. . For some reason they didnt take blood on the same day they scehduled for you a lot of diiferent appointment and then follow ups. In the result insurance didnt pay for all this service bc they put wrong codes no preventative care which is always 100% covered.

Horrible waste of time. Apparently the doctors time is more important than mine. Ill never go back there.Revised 17... Be warned stay away from this business.

Dr. Scolaro is SLOWER THAN MOLASSES. Dr. Cheeseman is probably the rudest Doctor I never met long story and the front desk staff knows and doesn’t care or doesn’t have any ability to do anything about it. Dr. Sarquis was very nice and the only reason this place gets a good rating. Go see her if you can.Update 121418 Had a wonderful experience with Nurse Practitioner Erin as a walkin for flu like symptoms. If you are a walkin or cannot get an appt feel free to ask for her. She has an impecable bedside manner and is extremely well versed.
