List of Malcolm Root's Reviews
Met Dr. Root today. I have worked with other urologists on my issue going on and was happy to get his input. Covered a lot with me and went over what his recommendations are. I asked a lot of questions and he went through them all.
Been with him 20 years. I have complete confidence in Dr Root!
He was my urologist for several years...personable...THEN one day, I told him that one of the things he was treating me for (low testosterone...poor results) I was turning over to my primary physician. He instantly appeared miffed and pissed off...did a prostate exam, turned around and stormed out. Very childish reaction like a bruised ego...never heard from him again, and I terminated my relationship. He's okay until you hurt his feelings, I guess. I wouldn't recommend starting a new relationship with him, do to this experience
I met with Dr Root 1x. I was referred to see him subsequent to blood tests. Pros with Dr Root Pleasant, courteous, explained things clearly. Cons: Dr Root has a joint practice with 5 or 6 other urologists. I went on Feb 9th several weeks before the shut down. His office was extremely crowded...we didn't feel comfortable sitting, way too many people. After the visit. I received a phone call from his office a staff person shared that my chest x ray came out +. I told the staff admin person I never had a chest x-ray....ok bad but not terrible. Called office to explain given chest x ray result when I never had one and told the office not happy about that, then called 2 weeks later explaining I would be seeing another urologist asked for medical record.....copy sent to me 2x with blank file.Explained I would see other urologist closer to me 2x. June 20th reminder call for appt I never made called office ask for Dr Root to call me. Admin staff incompetent. No call back from Dr
Malcolm Root has been taking care of my water works for about 20 years, including one surgery that was successful. I've found him competent, thorough, complete in his explanations, conservative when this is called for, decisive when he needs to be, and personally congenial. I would recommend him to anyone.
I’ve been seeing Dr Root for 15 years. I always find him very caring, capable and excellent in his treatments. He has performed 2 surgeries and at St Joseph’s Hospital and other locations, Nurses spoke very highly of him and one said she took her mother to him because he’s the best in her opinion. I’ve always had high confidence in him.
He takes his times, answers questions and explains everything well. Also, made me feel comfortable during a test that I had done. My husband sees him too. We are both very pleased with the care we are getting. Office staff is very efficient and accommodating.
Although I have only had two, visits, Dr Root seems to be very caring and professional. He explains and answers questions. Appears to have a good personality. The back area staff are brisk but professional. The check in staff are indifferent, no greetings or smiles, just sign in and sit. I was referred and so far no disappointments. Hopefully my assessment continues through the remainder appointments.
He is always willing to talk and listen to all your concerns. He is thorough and persistent in finding an effective solution. Staff is always friendly.
One of the best docs I know. Treated my wife very competently for giant stone. Treats us like people, not just a number. Spends time with us and is compassionate and caring. I get to go to him soon for PCNL. Yay me!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
