Curtis Emmer's Online Review Report Card

I was a patient of Dr Emmer back in 2017. I’m having an issue and decided to read the reviews which were terrible. I thought I’d go ahead & make an appointment which I admit wasn’t a good idea. I called last Thursday got the answering machine was told to leave a message & guess what it is now Tuesday afternoon & I never heard back although I had decided not to use him anyway.

Dr. Emmer and his staff are wonderful. We were seen quickly and Dr. Emmer was very kind and easy to speak to.

0 stars. STAY AWAY FROM HERE! Staff is incredibly rude and lazy. Doctor Emmer will do procedures without telling you what he's doing and then charge you for it. Called prior to the first visit to schedule and appointment and was told they take our insurance. For the first visit, the doctor came in the room, sprayed something into the nose and walked out. He never said what was going on or what he was doing. He then came back, stuck a scope down the back of the throat for 1 second, said it was allergies, and was told we needed to schedule an allergy test. Weeks later, before the Allergy test, we received a claim from our insurance for uncovered, $400+, "surgery" charges from this office. I called the office and asked how I was billed for "surgery" during an consultation office visit, the staff laughed and told me that the "scope" is coded as surgery. When I pressed further to find out why I wasn't TOLD it wasn't covered, I was told there was just a sticky note (saying it's not covered) in our chart so they didn't see it to tell us. When speaking to the woman in billing, I asked why we weren't informed that we would be charged as a "surgery" for an office visit, and to let patients KNOW that insurance isn't going to cover a procedure BEFORE the Dr does it, and she hung up on me. Don't waste your time going here.

Horrible experience. Do not bother going. No one so much as checked even my stats I could have walked in with Covid......fever, blood pressure etc.Even my podiatrist does that! Never even looked at sinuses. Never could get any explanation of where and what was going on. He did not " like" my attitude ( while still not explaining anything). If you are over 65 I suppose you are supposed to be stupid and not to question anything and you are just a Medicare ticket. MD Now better than this place which is where I am going now. Also advising referring physician and Medicare...that bad! Cassandra T.

Dr Emmer is one of the most knowledgeable, friendly doctor. He is so caring and takes the best care of his patient.The first time I was in his care I taught I met him before that's how at ease he makes you feel. I have no hesitation recommending him to anyone who needs his service.

My husband is a patient of Dr. Emmer. He wasn’t thorough with the ear cleaning. Checked at home later with a scope and the wax is still present. Dr.Emmer was dismissive of any questions and concerns he had, but recommended a $700 CT scan and allergy test for his next appointment. When we called to express concerns about the ear cleaning, no resolutions were offered by staff, only to cancel the appointment, which we did. Not what I expected especially since Dr Emmer was referred by a friend. And we’re self pay.

I wish I would've read these reviews before going there. Loooong wait times (over an hour), for him to come in (for less than 1 minute), shine a flashlight down my throat, say "it looks better" (it was a follow up appointment), and charge my insurance for a surgical procedure! What?!? And I owe $150 of that? Nope. I will be disputing this charge with my insurance.

Front desk was courteous and pleasant. I was taken right away. Dr Emmer was pleasant and knowledgeable. His staff was excellent. They took their time with me. I would easily recommend them to family and friends. This is from both a personal and professional basis.

Staff doesn't pay attention to who signs in and ignores you, then you wait 90 minutes and get a cocky answer.
