This was my first colon screening, colonoscopy. Dr. Amshel and staff are fantastic. Everyone was very friendly and open, made what one normally wouldn't equate to a pleasant experience into just that--- a pleasant and stress free experience. It was over and done before I knew it, no soreness or discomfort at all. Felt great that day and now a week later. Would definitely suggest/refer to anyone thinking about getting their colon screening. Regards, Matt Cox

This Dr is the WORST EVER!! I don’t believe he still in practice. He did a hemorrhoid surgery on my brother. From this, he suffered from pain and discharge for months. He wound up going to the ER for blood transfusions and infection. He wound up back in surgery and now he has to wear colostomy bag and other issues. I don’t know where these recommendation came from but I am not happy how he butchered my brother. He suffering for months and still having issues
Dr Amshel provides professional compassionate care. He is a caring and dedicated physician. I’m lucky he is my doctor.
I have had 2 operations with Dr, Amshel and consider him an excellent Doctor
I wanted to express how pleased I have been with Dr Amshel and his helpful staff. I recently had surgery and had to call his office several times to ask questions and get advice. The office staff was very helpful and answered all my questions with compassion and courtesy. Very helpful.
9/19/22- Went to meet Dr. Amshel for a simple skin tag removal and botox for a mostly healed fissure. I contacted the office the following week to confirm they sent a preauth to my insurance company for the botox. She said I was scheduled for a sphincterotomy, not botox. I couldn't believe it! I made it very clear what I wanted done. I spoke to the office manager and requested Dr Amshel call me. We discussed again what I wanted done and he said it was his preference to do a sphincterotomy since he's a surgeon. However, he agreed to do what I wanted. Although it made me feel uneasy, like I'd wake up from the skin tag removal with a sphincterotomy. 10/12/22- I emailed the office to check the status on the botox and they told me they didn't send the preauth to my insurance yet because I owed them $25 fee from a bounced check. I informed her that my account was hacked and my bank closed it on Oct 5, why hadn't they cashed my check yet from Sept 19? They held my check for over 2 weeks before cashing it! I explained the situation and was met with no empathy or understanding. The office manager said they don't have a time frame to deposit checks and basically it's my responsibility that my account was compromised. I paid the $25 fee and told her to remove me as a patient. I will take my business somewhere I feel comfortable and confident. I don't care for greed or inconsideration. Not to mention the pressure of doing a sphincterotomy, when I stated from the beginning that is not what I wanted.
If you disagree with my statement then you should train your staff on this issue. I did not call to cancel the appointment, I called to discuss the paperwork and my desire not to sign the arbitration agreement and was clearly told that I would not be seen if it wasn't signed. I then cancelled the appointment. Your response clearly shows me I made the right decision.
So I've had my second procedure with MD Amshel. I cannot express how he Darryl his nurse recovery staff all made me feel so comfortable and relaxed! I genuinely had no stress concerns and I knew I was in great hands! They are funny and make you laugh! Great bedside manners. MD Amshel even called me the next day on his day off to see how I was feeling! What a great MD! I'm telling as many people as I can about him and his staff! They are awesome!
Found this MD based on location(what was close to my house). Never looked at any reviews or anything else. Me and my husband made our initial appointment and afterwards felt very comfortable with using MD Amshel. He explained the procedure thoroughly and answered any questions that we had. He is a very nice and has great bedside manners! His staff is also very nice. Big shout out to his nurse, John, Darryl and his front office staff! I will be returning to him for any GI concerns that I have and I will be recommending him to all my friends and family! Thank you so much. Tanoka and AJ Dumas.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
