The worse hospital. First time the diagnosed was wrong..Even do I give them another chance. Bad decision....happen again. I will never recommend this hospital. The staff are great... But the doctor are not.. poor communication between the doctor and nurses....not well organized. The nurse are great...the really try to make me feel comfortable. They need more nurses...is not easy for them. But they diagnosed was wrong...that's the doctor responsibility. Never never! Go to St Joseph instead
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! My wife was in a bad car accident and the ambulance brought her here. In the end, her injuries were 3 torn ligaments (1 in each elbow, and 1 in her ankle, and a broken ankle). They discharged her without even as much as a wheelchair or bottle of Ibuprofen, totally missing the injuries. Then we got the bill sent to the insurance company. They tried to charge > 112,000 for a few scans and x-rays. Criminal! This place is a joke. They didn't even remove her EKG patches before they sent her home. This hospital is why malpractice insurance exists. They are frauds and should not be in business.
Let me 1st say I’m one of many who don’t trust doctors or excited about going to hospitals because of horrible experiences. I even started writing a book about it. I’ve been to several hospitals, urgent cares and doctor offices in hillsbourough county and when I say out of all the states I lived in they’re the worst at making patients feel cared for & make you question their expertise. I’ll never go to any other hospital only Southshore. I was welcomed with a smile and assistance upon entering. Even the overwhelmed working through the storm showed concern. Dr Jared was knowledgeable and his nurse was patient & informative. The Dr was determined to locate the problem. The guy who did my X-ray was quick with clear instructions. I’ll never go to those other places that has let me down. Had they not found what was wrong with me I probably be dying from kidney failure. Tgh planned parenthood st Joseph’s and my doctor office truly disappoint me. My doctor took 5 months to get back to me about low vitD and high choles😟 Idc how long a distance or the wait I rather go here if I have any emergency issues. They also provide care given medication instructions and follow up references. My prescription were sent to the correct location and I didn’t have to contact the hospital to send it since they don’t ignore you. I didn’t get poked 5 times through out both arms to draw my blood. I even like how they treated the elderly there so if my elders in my family need help I’m bringing them there. The overall experience made me have a change of heart when it come to the medical field. The entire team ran that hospital as I assumed all should operate. I hope to get well and I have not 1 complaint whatsoever except they’re only available for emergencies.
This is a place full of compassionate, caring, and kind people. Needing surgery is never anything fun or stress free but I can't say enough positive things about the people here who helped me. They made a scary situation so much easier to deal with. I will be forever thankful ❤️
This is the worst experience of my life. Entering the emergency room very much in pain. After about 30 minutes. They pushed me into the examinating room. Where the nurse told me if I puked on her floor that would be it I would be out of there I had died particularities. Makes your stomach very ill. And you have to throw up but I didn't because she said if I throw up on her floor it would be it for me period blonde hair was a ponytail extremely rude. After it took her 20 30 minutes to do what she had to do.I lay there for about an hour and a half. People were walking by cracking jokes about how funny it was that I was in so much pain. I've been there once before and got the exact same treatment matter fact they entered me into their hospital. I've got Dennis my name is Dennis Scott Mitchell. So after all the time I spent in there they did absolutely nothing I had a prescription for colonoscopy. They gave me some morphine and sent me on my way. So I went to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptiand nothing was there because I was under the name Dennis Scott show after 3 or 4 times back and forth tdeliver pharmacy CVS pharmacy where my prescriptions were sent I was finally told please don't come here anymore we don't have your prescription. Show my stomach got show upset and so tight I was puking and bleeding blood. So not really wanting to I went back to the hospital doubled over in pain which I had to walk a quarter mile to get into the main entrance emergencyou can see because I walked to the back spot and they wouldn't take me in so I walked another half a mile around the building to the main entrance. When I arrived I was so doubled over in pain that a security I think he said his name was Bubba ask me what I needed. I was so doubled over in pain I really couldn't talk well I said please take me to the emergency room. Well that's not my job he said and he went away. During during that time the lady behind checking desk called for emergency room to come get me as I was screaming in pain . At that time the emergency room people came sitting there for about 20 minutes ask him me questions who I am what's my name this and that and all that and I said my name is Dennis Scott Mitchell not Scott Dennis I have been here before and you people are atrocious with service you got my name wrong the first time now this time I'm telling you who I am Dennis Scott Mitchell proceeded to hand them my driver's license and my information about being there the last time. They said all that doesn't matter sir. We need to get all your information. As I got more upset every second they started to ignore me and left me sit there. After I finally got back into admittance. They left me sit there for another 45 minutes in pain shaking hurting and very very sick. They more or less made a spectacle of the whole thing by the time I got back to you to get admitted again for the second time for the same reason. Questions questions questions and more questions. No treatment just questions who I am where I'm from what's my name who this that and another. So the lady says I remember you were here yesterday are you still sick. Yes ma'am please help me I'm in severe pain please help me. So after about 15 or 20 minutes I've heard taking all my information. She proceeded to help me again I started feeling sick again she said stated do not throw up on my floor or you will be out of here for the second time second day in a row blonde hair ponytail didn't catch her name didn't want to know her name she was very rude. As I left her area I sat in another area for about an hour calling out in paying asking for help. Did I get any no walking by snickering and laughing and telling how what a joke this was. Throughout my stay there I got nothing but rude treatment no doctors only nurses only assistance was from bringing me towels and taking out my trash nobody really did anything at all. Throughout my stay there I found various needles pills and other items that shouldn't have been in the room Never got any treatment that I needed just got pumped up with drugs I
DO NOT use this hospital. Go to St. Joseph.
Between the doctors who are in a super rush and the other staff - discharge orders totally screwed up - doctors not available - really weak on the CARE side. when dealing with my 89 y.o. father. I personally would not go there.
Horrible hospital and staff. Went with horrendous pain due to kidney stones. I was there for over 4 hours. Yes, four long and excruciating hours and was never seen by the Dr. They didn't care about my health at all. My wife tried to talk to many of them and was ignored several times. Those people should be fired, including the Dr. I left to St. Joseph after my last plead to be seen by the Dr. I had to drive 7 miles in such a pain because my wife doesn't drive. I was seen right away, after l made it to Saint Joseph hospital. Stay away from this place.
The whole Medical staff was friendly and comforting my whole stay.
The hospital was clean, most of the staff were very friendly, and helped keep everyone relaxed and happy. My Dr. Was my Dr. Of choice so of course he was great. I appreciated the followup phone call the next day even though I was not able to take the call, I thought it was a nice touch.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
