Absolutely a wonderful doctor … explanation of situation, possible plans ahead, very good bedside manners and had a good sense of humor. Great smile and made you feel his concern.
This doctor is truly a gift from God. I was admitted to Mease for 6 days and he always had the time to answer my questions and make even a bad day a good one.
Very caring and competent physician. He saw my husband in the hospital and answered all our questions in terms we could understand. He was very caring and let us know what to the plan going forward was for my husband who had a stroke.
My husband had a stroke and Dr Riviera came to see him the morning of his discharge from Mease Countryside Hospital. He did an exam, explained what all the test results ment of the different procedures my husband had, in terms that we could understand. Dr Riviera took his time, I did not feel like he was in a rush but he wanted to make sure we understood what happened, and what the different specialist were going to do going forward. He had a good bedside manner, and I felt was very competent.
My husband was hospitalized at Mease Countryside Hospital and Dr Riviera was one of his doctors. He examined him and explained in layman's terms the results of the various procedures my husband had such as CT's, MRI, and echocardiogram. He answered all our questions, and I felt spent as much time as we needed him to. He had a good bedside manner, and felt confident in his recommendations for moving forward with a treatment plan for my husband who had a stroke.
Dr.Riviera is the best doctor my wife and I have met. He truly took care of my wife when she was in the hospital. He took care of her and got things done. She felt like family to him. Absolutely a wonderful Doctor.
I can say the Doctor was like an angel sent from Heaven. A true answer to my prayers. He is kind and listens to all your questions and concerns and answers your Questions honestly. He is the most compassionate doctor I’ve ever met, no medical school can teach that only God. I will be forever grateful for Dr. Riviera.
He kept insisting that my mother should be left to die from a uti , and then refused to allow specialists to come in and diagnose her for an underlying condition, which was treatable, after she vomited blood in the ER. Instead he kept insisting she could not swallow because of "dementia", which she was never diagnosed with, and in spite of the fact that she passed all of her swallowing tests. He kept forcing his opinion that she should be left untreated, even in front of her which was very upsetting. She would have been home by now, pain free and enjoying a quality of life with people she loved. Instead he kept kept discharging her from the hospital with antibiotics while ignoring her pain and her symptoms of internal bleeding, and refused to make appropriate referrals while she was there. She eventually threw up blood until she stopped breathing. This is a very dangerous doctor because of his refusal to listen to to anyone or even facts that vary from his own personal opinion.
Dr. Riviera came in to see me in Countryside Mease after a fall at home. He wanted me to have an EEG and MRI done to be sure I was clear and although it took a long time for the results to be submitted, he followed through on his promise to get me back home as soon as possible. ;-)
This man tried to convince me to let my man die. Even though we both did not agree.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
