Best Dr I ever had.

Dr. Laartz was working for West Coast Infectious Diseases, which was contracted with BayCare Alliant when our comatose, immune compromised daughter was there. He prescribed an antibiotic to treat CSF coming from our daughter's ears. He apparently didn't know about the other hospital’s explanation for the elevated white blood count. No bacterial infection was found. Because of over use of antibiotics, our daughter suffered a raging fungal infection which was not treated until she was moved to another hospital weeks later. I do not believe it was Dr. Laartz's fault that BayCare's contracted neurologist was on vacation most of the time our daughter was there; it meant he probably had no neurologist to consult regarding the CSF fluid coming from her ears. Apparently WCID was helpless to stop BayCare Alliant from moving covid patients into the same ward with our immune compromised daughter. Who ever heard of people with infectious diseases being moved in with immune compromised patients in a hospital?

Dr Laartz saw my son in North Bay hospital. Ian had just returned from teaching in China and was very ill. Dr. Laartz was the first person to diagnose his illness correctly and prescribe the correct treatment. He was always kind, helpful and very knowledgeable. I have no hesitation in recommending him

They put you in exam room and...waited 50 minutes before been seen by Doc. I have witnessed patients living the waiting room after excessive waiting...and not happy...

I found Dr. Laartz and his staff to be pleasant and most helpful. Dr. Laartz is very knowledgeable and without him I don't think I could have gotten rid of the infection I had.
