My name is Margie Norman I'm a 72 year old female who had my spine operated on by Dr k o u r i I have never felt better in my entire life he did a brilliant job his bedside manner is perfect I was very comfortable with him performing the tasks that was necessary
I am three weeks out from ACDF surgery performed by Dr. Anthony Kouri and doing very well. The constant pain that I was experiencing for several months is finally gone. We found the office and clinical staff to be knowledgeable and efficient. Overall, I am very satisfied with my decision to proceed with treatment at Joseph Spine. Thank you ALL for your help!
BEWARE I had a HORRIBLE expereince with this office - BAD attitudes, VERY unhelpful, don't care about their patients, and ONLY want to push surgery! I was in the hospital with an excrutiating herniated disc for a week at the beginning of October. While I was there, a Ortho from Joseph Spine treated me. He worked at the Tampa office, so he referred me to this office. I called after I was discharged on 10/06 and was given the first appt. On 10/20. During the visit, I mentioned that I wanted to do everything possible to avoid surgery, and the doctor didn't seem to like that. The day before this visit, I saw my PCP and asked them to fill out FMLA paperwork for my job, which is necessary for me to have been on a leave of absence while I was in the hospital and for any future treatment or emergencies required. I also requested a letter releasing me back to work (that simply says yes or no I can perform my work duties). My PCP told me that since the Ortho was treating me and would know all future dates and treatment, they should fill them out. However, when I asked Cindy (who works under Dr. Cory), she said they don't unless I am having surgery. I called my PCP back and told them and after going back and forth with them, they told me the Ortho should and the PCP refused. I called and spoke with Cindy again, and she said that "since they didn't take me out of work, they can not release me back to work" Ummm, no one took me out of work - the CONDITION that put me in the hospital took me out, which is the condition that they are treating me for - and why would she not be able to say whether I was ok medically to work?? Also, they had all my medical records, including the ones from the doctor with Joseph spine who treated me in the hospital. Cindy was adament that she could only give me a doctor's note for the visit on 10/20, that I was a new patient and they couldn't fill anything out and could not give me a letter saying I was released to work (even though the doctor said work I was fine to work during the visit). The FMLA paperwork just says "was this patient in the hospital, include the dates" , "is this a chronic condition?", "what is the estimated treatment plan?". I left a voicemail for the office manager, who has a recording saying she returns calls within 24 hours and that was 4 days ago and I still have not received a returned call. So, my PCP and my Orth both refused and now I HAVE LOST MY JOB. None of the reasons Cindy gave made any sense as to why they "couldn't" complete the documents, which makes it very clear that it is because they just didn't want to even though I explained that I have 3 kids on my own and can't afford to lose my job. Seems like they don't want to help unless you are going under the knife and they can make thousands and thousands of dollars off your insurance company. Thanks for nothing Joseph Spine!!!!!
I'm a new woman! After almost 5 long years of daily lower back pain Dr. Joseph worked a miracle. I'm just 3 weeks out of surgery and already have pain relief. Dr. Joseph and the staff at Joseph Spine Institute are wonder and helped me from consultation through recovery. I can't recommend them enough!
Had Cervical injections and am now pain free. Thanks to Dr. Chatter her and his crew.
Very caring staff, very competent Dr./ Surgeon..!!!! ❤️
The staff at Dr Joseph spine, specifically Dr. Chatterjee's office are very welcoming and accommodating. Dr. Chatterjee is very knowledgeable and very attentive to his patients. He truly cares about all of his patients and their well-being and recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Chatterjee and his office.
I went to Josephspine for a second opinion for both my upper and lower spine issues. This is where I meet Doc.Chatterjee and his staff. I was impressed at both there office and location. This is me but a successful Doc has a professional network within medical network you know or know of. Doc.Chatterjee set me up with a treatment plan within all 3 of there network offices to that included my hospitals I use etc. The surgeon at Safety Harbor Wanderful. Doc Chatterjee had me go the Dunedin Surg Center. He did his treatment to get me pain free something I had not had since May 100 percent. I promise you I have zero lower spine pain. My tail bone hurt so bad I could not sit down also. This is history all the lower spine pain. It is not a permanent fix for my lower spine and no one knows how long it will last. It is God sent for me . If you have spine issues here is where you need to go. I trust Doc Chatterjee 100 per cent with my health. First class establishment.
There was a surgeon at this office that did surgery on me on 3/18/20 and he left the practice. (I do not know why for certain) I was not EVER notified that he was no longer a part of this practice. I want everyone or anyone out there to also know that the surgeon that they said was terminated below in their response is a LIE. It is November and I am finally going to see the surgeon that did my surgery where he is in a solo practice now and I will see him on November 12th. Again, do not believe anything anyone has to say at Joseph Spine Institute! Bottom line for me is that the Staff denied me my medical records and I have filed a written complaint with 1. my health Insurance for double charges 2. Florida Board of Medicine. Having worked myself in healthcare for 37 years and "IF" DR. SAMUEL A. JOSEPH, Jr. /Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon or anyone in this practice had taken either the Hippocratic Oath very seriously or even taken a job with them, they ALL knew that what they have done is wrong. I am having problems from my Spinal surgery due to something that occurred about a month ago. I need to see my Surgeon and get a MRI of my LUMBAR SPINE to make sure that nothing permanent is wrong with my Spine. I REFUSE to see Dr. Joseph which was all that I was offered as he wouldn't allow his staff to do what they have done if he were a Dr. with character. I will send this post to the Board of Medicine as well. I would go to the East Coast of Florida before I seen any Dr. at Joseph Spine Institute. When I was in excruciating pain and called to make an appointment I was told by Tara that I could not get an appointment until I paid my balance, which when I investigated it, I didn't owe! NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE is my suggestion as a R.N. I want everyone to know that per the Florida Department of Health, NO PHYSICIAN CAN HOLD YOUR RECORDS FOR ANY REASON.
Dr. Joseph did surgery on my mom Friday. She feels great! We came to Dr. Joseph after having an awful experience elsewhere. From the first appointment to the the surgery Dr. Joseph and his staff have been amazing. They care!! And thats hard to find. My mom and me would like to say that we are so thankful for Dr. Joseph and his entire staff. You have no idea how much this means to us. I highly recommend Dr Joseph Spine!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
