If I could give them zero stars I would. Dr. Michaels and his team are horrible. If you need a doctor in St. Augustine go ANYWHERE ELSE. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. All they want to do is bill you and shove whatever their preferred medications are down your throat. Every interaction I have with them has been horrible and a few weeks ago was the last straw. I called because I was sick with Covid and didn’t feel well enough to drive myself to the minute clinic. I called them at 11am to request a prescription for Paxlovid. They confirmed my pharmacy and said they would it send it though. When I hadn’t heard from the pharmacy and it was 4:50pm I called FM medical back. They said they would look into it and transferred me to a nurse. The nurse didn’t pick up so I called back. Again the receptionist tried to transfer me but no one answered. The third time I called (4:56pm) I asked the receptionist to hand the nurse the phone rather than transfer since clearly they weren’t going to pick up. The receptionist put me on hold and then came back on the line to say they actually wouldn’t fill the prescription since I hadn’t been to see my doctor in a year, which was a lie. I asked her to hand the phone to the nurse. She did and the nurse said the same. I said to pull up my profile because I didn’t understand how that was possible when I had an active prescription and knew I had been there in the last year. When she pulled it up, they said my last appointment was September 2022. When I explained that based on that info it had in fact been less than a year she said it actually had to be less than 6 months.I asked how the rule changed since we were on the phone, and they couldn’t answer: When I tried to discuss it with her she hung up on me. Can you believe that! Just horrible. Previous other negatives: -During my first annual I saw Dr. Michael’s and explained that I was gaining a lot of weight despite working out and dieting. He dismissed it. Two years later, I went back to FM medical and saw a different doctor and I requested an in-depth thyroid panel since my weight gain continued no matter what I did. When my blood work came back it turned out I had hypothyroidism. They prescribed me two medications. When I asked her to look at my previous blood work she confirmed my numbers two years prior were in fact borderline. Had Dr. Michael’s taken my concerns seriously and not just dismissed me as overweight, I could have gotten my thyroid under control sooner. -One of the initial medicines Dr. Michael’s team prescribed me for my hypothyroidism was having horrible side effects, exhaustion, nausea, crippling headaches, etc. When I was initially prescribed the medications the doctor said if I had trouble with the side effects I could call back and they would try something else. After three weeks on the medication I wasn’t able to function. I stopped taking it and called my doctor at fm medical. No one at reception answered. For 48 hours (weekdays) I left multiple messages and no one called back. Finally my husband called and got someone on the phone. They said they would call back, but they didn’t. When he called again the next day and got someone on the phone and they said they would call me back, he refused to accept that as an answer and said he would drive to their office and personally hand his phone to the nurse or someone to talk to me since it had been four business days of trying to get in touch with my doctor. At that point they said no and finally got the doctor on the phone and I was conferenced in. Instead of prescribing me something else like they said they would, they said I would have to come in to talk to him so they could prescribe something else. Not only did they lie to me but they wanted me to come in again just so they could bill me. If you are in the st. Augustine area avoid this place at all costs. It is the worst!

We were on vacation in St. Augustine when our son woke up throwing up with fever. We took him in and the wait was rather long until he threw up in the waiting room. They brought us right into a room after that and gave him Tylenol for his 103 temperature. When Dr. Medved came in, he checked his ears, said one was red, and then decided that our son had “the flu or something viral” without any real exam or testing. He seemed rushed and sent us on our way with a prescription for Tamiflu. The next day we ended up at a second urgent care because our son was complaining of ear pain. The first thing they did was test for Covid and flu. It turns out he (and thus we) had Covid, and if they had just done a simple rapid test at the time of the visit (our pediatrician at home tests everyone if they have a fever), we would have known a day sooner and not exposed people at the pharmacy and grocery store between those two appointments. The nurses and front desk staff were wonderful, but I would hope that Dr. Medved wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss what turned out to be Covid next time. The second urgent care was shocked that they didn’t test immediately as well.

I love this doctor. He always addresses my concerns and explains things to me perfectly. He is not condescending. I have had a throat issue for several years. i thought it was something else. I have been to other doctors. None of them ever said I had acid reflux. Michaels took one look and knew right away . I have worked with the nurse Gwen several times and she is fabulous. Always calls me back. Always gets me what I need . The other nurses are great also. Despite being busy the front desk always gets the job done.. they are efficient and friendly.

Dr. Michaels is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. His staff including nurses, PA,s and office staff are fabulous! Dr. Michaels takes his time, is knowledgeable and always knows the right course of action. I would never go anywhere else.

Went for urgent care. Dr Michaels made us wait while he saw regular patients that came in after us. in hindsight, we should have walked out. anyway he is rude, his staff is rude, and its not the cleanest place either. after he got paid he put a cheesy gel brace on her.....but wait.....as I struggled to get my wife out to the car, they didn't help, they said I needed to hive them another $25 for the brace. I yelled over my shoulder, bill me, you have my address....while carrying my wife. this hack Dr chased us into the parking lot demanding she take the brace off and give it back. after a few choice words we gave it to jim. I guess he'll put it on someone else after it was in her foot, gross. the guy is really a jerk. ill be reporting him to the AMA and my insurance provider. you have been warned.

Dr. Michaels and staff are on on point. Dr. Michaels was engaging and interested in all aspects of my wellness. Also very forthcoming with good information. Five Stars!

Would not recommend going here unless you already know the treatment you need. The PA Rachel was delightful in assisting me with getting a physical I needed for a school program in August of 2020. I went back in January 2021 expecting to see Rachel to order some blood work and instead I saw Dr. Michaels. This was my first meeting with him (I'm a 25 year old female, but I guess I could look younger). I am a vegan and wanted to get bloodwork to check my vitamin levels because I have been chronically fatigued after exercising despite being otherwise healthy. Upon first meeting the doctor he said, "Well why don't you eat a steak." Yes this is such an appropriate time for humor when I'm seeking medical advice and you are now disrespecting my way of life. I doubt he would make such a comment if I were not a young woman. I did not laugh and he informed me that he likes to joke around. Dr. Michaels disagreed with my ADHD diagnoses from another Doctor who specializes in ADHD. Dr. Michaels told me "ADHD is caused by people who cannot stay off their cell phones". He then proceeded to lecture me about I cannot possibly have ADHD because I got good grades until college (read the literature that is a common issue in ADHD for women! we're good at hiding it). He suggested I must not have taken enough workshops on how to study or take notes. He also told me, "Well you're sitting still right now" and I said "Yes because I took my medication today." He ignored that statement and had me take questionnaires for anxiety and depression. Again if you read the literature ADHD diagnoses in women are commonly missed because Doctors see it as anxiety and depression. He changed my medication to an antidepressant. He also made multiple other unhelpful suggestions like "watch a funny movie because you can't laugh and be sad at the same time" and "get a cat or a dog". I can barely feed myself on a regular interval I don't understand how a pet can help. ADHD is a condition of executive disfunction, meaning we are terrible at scheduling things and taking care of ourselves never mind pets. I left the office in tears. I felt stupid and lazy. I was quite open minded in assuming maybe my other doctor who prescribed the ADHD medication was incorrect. After all what do I know? I wish Dr. Michaels had the same level of humility. After two day of taking the antidepressants I had to switch back to my original medication. I was exhausted despite sleeping for 9 hours and taking multiple naps. I was also extremely irritable and borderline suicidal by the end of the second day. Antidepressants work on serotonin, adhd medication works on dopamine. I don't know what Dr. Michaels learned in Medical School which by the way he went to a Caribbean Medical school which are far less competitive than the schools in the United States. I now question the caliber of his education. But I took an undergraduate behavioral neuroscience course to try and understand my brain better. I learned people who lack dopamine have a hard time "letting things go" and will often be upset for far longer than a neurotypical person about seemingly innocuous events. Cue Alanis Morisette's Ironic. See look! I can be funny too. You cured my "depression" I thought about printing out journal articles and going back to the office and explaining to Dr. Michaels that I do in fact have ADHD. But I have a $110 copay and I'm not going to waste more money on some guy with insensitive advice who has been a doctor for as long as I've been able to vote. In Summary I did not feel heard or listened to at all. And I am worried about the fact that he changed a medication that affects brain chemistry and then the office never followed up with me when I failed to make a follow up appointment. And my blood work came back normal. In short, see a specialist unless you have a very routine medical issue that a clown could diagnose. Because all I got from this "medical office" were sad jokes.

I have been seeing Dr. Michaels for many years, he diagnosed my cancer and saved my life all while showing that mirth and bemusement I so appreciate. It is unfortunate that Tori did not have a good experience but I would not trust my health with any other healer ........

It saddens me to give 1 star. Dr. Michaels is wonderful however the office staff and nurses have failed me and now my health is suffering because of it. The nurse assured me a month ago she was faxing paperwork to another facility for testing and I was to wait for a call to schedule the appointment. I waited 2 weeks and called FM medical back and was forwarded to the nurse voice mail. I never received a call back so I called again. The receptionist looked in my file and told me there was no record of me needed any tests. Following that call, a nurse did call and assured me once again she was faxing the papers. Great! I really need this test to see what is wrong because I'm not getting better. Well, here we are, 2 weeks later and no better. No call from any facility to schedule my test. So I call FM medical back. The receptionist was able to tell me, yes they papers were faxed. When I asked what was the name of the facility the papers were faxed to so I could call them, I was told she had no idea. There was no facility listed. How am I to believe they ever got faxed? I have completely lost faith and my health is suffering because of this.

Thorough and he keeps his appointment times. Keeping him as my primary for sure.
