Shannon Leu's Online Review Report Card

Dr Leu has been extreme helpful and cooperative setting up a plan for me. She found a drug the lowers my cholesterol dramatically and does not cause muscle pain like statins have. I trust her judgement and referred my son to her. I find her pleasing to work with.

Dr. Leu was very attentive to my concerns. She did not rush me out and spent time to listen before making recommendations. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.

My first visit today with Dr. Leu could not have been more pleasant. She was very attentive to why I was there, gave me a thorough exam, and was very informative as to a course of action for my problems. I felt extremely comfortable knowing she would get to the bottom of my concerns. Her staff was also courteous and very pleasant. I highly recommend her!

Tried to get an updated prescription for my blood pressure medication. Left 2 voice mails over a 2 week span, one on the prescription voice mail, one later on an assistant's voice mail. No response to either after several days. Finally got the prescription in a day from my internist.

While she seems to certainly know cardiology, on my first visit she appeared to me to be judgemental, and past instructive to the point of bossy. The second visit was better. My biggest problem was getting a response to my recent prescription request. I left a message with the prescription voice mail. After getting no response, after almost week I called and left a voice mail message with an assistant, who was not even Dr. Leu's assistant (even though I pressed the correct phone button for Dr. Leu's assistant). Again, no response after another 5 days. I finally went back to my primary internist at Baptist, and had no problem talking to an actual person after a short wait. I had the prescription in hand the next day.

Beware! Double-billing! In January, 2018 I went for testing. Shortly thereafter, I received a co-pay demand, so I logged into my Heath Care Provider's payment portal and paid the co-pay. Several weeks later, I received a statement in the mail from Shannon Leu demanding payment. I mailed my receipt for the payment and thought that would be the end of it. It wasn't. I received another bill which threatened to send the balance to collections, so I paid AGAIN. I then contacted my insurer and demanded a refund. They were able to provide me with a check number for the payment sent to Shannon Leu as well as the date it was cashed. The insurer then contact Shannon Leu's office and they admitted their mistake and promised a refund. That was three months ago.

I am very happy to be under the care of Dr Shannon Leu. She is never in a hurry and takes all the time necessary for my visits.

I received care from Dr Leu about 8 years ago. She answered my questions, cared what I had to say, and was very encouraging. She makes you feel that she's on your team and wants you to be successful in reaching your health goals. When I had a recent need for a cardiologist, the decision was easy for me. I asked to be sent to Dr Leu again. Not only is she a very competent cardiologist, but that staff that supports her are equally great. I highly recommend her!

I brought my husband into the cardiology practice in St. Augustine for a routine post op check up. He was about 2 weeks post - op for a AAA operation and I was glad he was seeing a doctor. His own doctor was too busy to see him. For some reason, he was weak that day, dizzy, and could not walk. I borrowed a wheel chair to wheel him into Dr. Leu. I told her he was having difficulty breathing. She said he was fine, and would schedule some tests the following week. My poor husband had one last chance for help following his surgery at BAPTIST, but she missed it, didn't care, dismissed him because it was a Friday afternoon and she was in a hurry to leave. That was at 2:00 PM. At 4:10 AM I found my poor husband lying on the bathroom floor - dead. What kind of doctor ignores these kinds of symptoms? Maybe because she was trained in another country? Who knows? She missed her chance to save my husband. I would be skeptical of using her services.

Terrible bedside manner. Doesn't really want patient's input. Very condescending! If I had to go to the emergency room and she was on duty, I would walk out!
