This was my 4th colonoscopy and Dr. Strickland's procedure for preparation is the easiest, with the least discomfort that I have ever had. She took plenty of time with me after the procedure to explain what she discovered. She is caring and competent. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Strickland is very compassionate and competent. She is the absolute best!! Unfortunately, due to the retirement/resignation of some of the Baycare Gastro Doctors, she is a one-woman office. So many people have moved to St Pete/FL, it is difficult to get an appointment quickly with any doctor! If your medical need is not urgent, Dr. Strickland is worth waiting for. She really cares about her patients. I feel so lucky to have found her. Luckily, we live in a big city, if you cannot get scheduled, do some research online. You can find another doctor.
I've had 2 colonoscopy with Dr. Strickland she is great, but this time I can't even talk to her office since February I'm trying in April the nurse called me back and asked some questions and until today August/22 I don’t have anything back from them. I gave up! I'm going to look for another doctor, it's sad because she's wonderful
My gastro doctors left Baycare, and I needed to get a colonoscopy. Being that Dr Strickland was the only doctor left in the group it was difficult to get an appointment. She was overwhelmed as was her staff. I had a tough time scheduling an appointment, and was discouraged. When I finally did get to see her and get my colonoscopy done I was glad I waited. Dr Strickland is a great doctor. Very caring, and thorough. Her office could use additional help so someone answers the phone promptly, but that's a problem all over. I highly recommend Dr. Strickland.
Completely impossible to reach her office on the phone. Even my surgeon's office said they could not reach her office. I finally went there in person to try to make an appt and the lone person at the desk just said nothing for 3 months and dont bother trying to reach the offce because they were understaffed and did not answer or return calls. At least she was honest. Needless to say i did not pursue seeing her.
Have been trying to make an appointment for over 6 months now. You can only leave a voicemail to her answering service to make an appointment. On the recording they warn you not to leave multiple voicemails because it will only slow dow the response time. After waiting weeks, no return call. The service could not be worse.
I loved Dr Amy Strickland, she is kind, smart and caring. She listened to me and calmed my fears. Her staff she works with at Carillon Surgery Center are amazing. Very good experience. I'm glad she is my Doctor!
Dr. Strickland is decent. The scheduling staff and communication is the reason for this rating. I have been trying to get their scheduling receptionist on the phone for two months. I even left my information with the nurse’s line because they are the only ones that pick up and I still have not heard back. My primary office has been trying to contact them via phone and the portal since they are also BayCare and no one responds. I tried to move on to another Gastro that actually picks up the phone and I can’t because I have to be discharged from Dr. Strickland’s office. I’m going to have to go down there physically just to get them to release me so I can get care. It is absolutely ridiculous and no way to do business especially when your business should be helping people with serious medical issues. It’s a real shame.
I was referred to Strickland following my previous gastro’s retirement. Her colonoscopy prep looked different. It was ineffective and left me not only stressed and uncomfortable, but requiring a do-over in one year. I knew it was wrong and when I had another colonoscopy scheduled, the prep looked too familiar. I was NOT about to go through another procedure with discomfort and an accelerated reschedule. Called Strickland. Nurse told me the prep had been changed and improved. My fault for believing her as it failed again. I portal messaged Strickland in a kind manner about the problem. No reply. I waited about 10 days and asked if she was going to reply. Nope. When I received a form letter from her office inviting me to call with questions, I did but by that time I knew I was done with her. You don’t have a doctor if you can’t communicate with that doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
