Went to Carmack for cataract removal. Opted for the lens to correct both far and nearsightedness and was told would not have to wear glasses. Corrected far vision to 25/20, near vision not corrected at all. All of the cataracts were not removed and had to complete via laser in his office. (++++ $$$). Julie is rude and cannot keep appointments straight. Lee is the only asset in the office. Strongly suggest getting a second opinion.

I recently had cataract surgery with Dr. Carmack and my experience was 100% positive. Unlike large hospitals, the St. MIchael's surgery center is small and personal. I felt as if I were receiving concierge level service. Dr. Carmack gave me the option of having a corrective lens for distance vision so I would no longer need glasses. It was the most wonderful decision I could have made. I can now see little birds in the trees from my balcony and so many other wonderful things that before required glasses to see. He and his staff kept me well informed throughout the whole process including the followup visits. I highly recommend him and his team.

Dr. Brent Carmack performed a cataract procedure on me in November of 2021. That procedure was corrected with a second operation by a different surgeon. - Brent performed the procedure using an Alcon lens with a diopter measurement of 2.0 - At final evaluation, I was told I needed glasses for the first time in 20 years to achieve 20/20 vision. Additionally, I had the feeling of a contact lens in my eye, as well as seeing the dark edge of the implant lens when I looked to the side. Note: During pre-op consultation with Brent, I informed him my priority was returning to my 20/20 vision. - My procedure results were not acceptable, leaving me with only a slight improvement in farsighted clarity but requiring glasses. - My second opinion Eye-Surgeon's prescription was a diopter strength of 22.5 (not 2.0) as was the third opinion. - The Eye Surgeon who corrected Brent’s work used a 22.5 diopter lens. I am now seeing a perfect 20/20 without glasses and without Brent.

I gave Dr. Carmack the highest recommendation because he is an excellent ophthalmologist who really knows what he's doing. He cared about my ability to see better than ever and put me at ease by explaining that my personal problem, waking up one morning with double vision, is something he has dealt with hundreds of times. He and his staff do everything possible to make you comfortable, and I also give his staff the highest marks because they are also very caring and helpful each step of the way. I've worn glasses since age 11 (now I'm 70), and after his care and subsequent cataract surgery, he definitely made my eyes the best they can be. Thank you, Dr Carmack and crew!

Scared of eyes but he got me through a very successful surgery that changed my life for the better.

Paid 15K + for ReSTORE Multifocal TORIC lens to correct for both near and farsightedness at all distances. Still need glasses to read. Carmack is a braggart. Had to use the laser in his office to get cataracts not extracted, another & 800 + $'s. Before committing to surgery strongly suggest getting a second opion. Office Tect Lee is the only asset to his company. Julie can not keep appointments straight.

I have a terrible fear of anyone or anything coming near my eyes. Dr. Carmack and his staff put me at ease and helped to ease my fears. Excellent staff and Dr. Carmack is amazing! Thank you!

Excellent patient care, great office & staff. Dr. Carmack is very thorough. As well as regular exams, he's also an eye surgeon, so no need to be referred to another doctor. He has a lovely optician & a great selection of frames. No need to go anywhere else. All care I've received in his office has been top-notch.

Dr. Brent is excellent. Very thorough exam and patient with questions. Office staff is wonderful. So happy I was referred to this surgeon!!
