List of David Mendelblatt's Reviews
Frank was excellent caring for my vision and David does as well.
The office staff is rude. The Doctor barely says anything during your visit. The eyeglass prescription that I was given was completely wrong. I had an optometrist check it when I went to buy glasses. They compared their prescription to the one Dr. Mendelblatt wrote. Mendelblatt was off on both the power and 90 degrees off on the astigmatism. They dialed both prescriptions into the phoropter, and it was obvious to me that Mendelblatt's prescription was way off.
He is arrogant, condescending and dismissive. You cannot have a informative dialog with the man. There are many ophthalmologists in St. Petersburg that will treat their patients with care and respect. He is not one.Billy M.
David Mendelblatt is epitome of optometrist, all the arrogance, with no talent. He is rude, condescending and doesn't address eye problems (which was pain that woke my son up in the middle of the night). He asked no questions about pain and suggested I buy eye drops for my son. I asked two questions. He answered both questions rudely and sarcastically. I could not wait to get out of there.
Worst ever listening, bedside manner and knowledge
David Mendelblatt is arrogant, rude, condescending and spends little time with you as a patient. He does not address the issue and tries to demean you when you ask questions. He also is not knowledgeable beyond prescribing a prescription for glasses. Even then makes you feel stupid by asking if the change in prescription is because your eyesight has gotten worse. Compared change in eyesight to change in shoe size. Stay far away from this provider
As a new patient I felt that he was unprofessional, dismissive, aloof, arrogant, and hurried. He barely introduced himself and avoided my questions, disrespectful and uncaring. Compared to my previous doctor he gave me a very incomplete exam, was not interested in my history of an unusual eye condition, and did not want my medical records. Sadly I will not go back and cannot recommend him in any way.
Dr. Mendelblatt performed my cataract surgery and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his staff.
As a physician my eyes are very important to me. I developed pseudomonas corneal ulcer and Dr Mendelblatt took superb care of me. He examined me daily, made the correct diagnosis and treated me with eye drops every hour for the first week. He routinely called to check on me and I could sense his deep concern for my infection. He is one of the finest ophthalmologists in the West Coast of Florida.
I am a practicing physician, and send my patients to Dr. David for the highest quality of care. His staff is kind and patient for my patients (who are mainly geriatric). HE IS MY PERSONAL EYE PHYSICIAN AS WELL!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
