Derek Hiltz's Online Review Report Card

Reported a completely incorrect diagnosis on my record starting with "Patient admits to" and when challenged refused to accept that he was wrong. What about the poor person whose record this should have been on?! Offered meds for depression when I was grieving the loss of someone close to me (twice) even though I told him that I wasn't depressed - rather - I was grieving! Books appointments for referrals eg mammogram- without first checking patients' availability. Arrogant. I always felt unseen and another number to be processed - incorrectly! Move past!

I am very fortunate he was not my doctor. My spouse was seen by Dr Hiltz. He is so incredibly egotistical that being right is more important than patient health. He doesn't get along well with others so you have to change your specialist or he won't see you. There are many very good doctor in Tampa Bay you do not have to put up with Dr Hiltz

Dr. Derek Hiltz Best Doctor Ever! I have never been a fan of the entire medical field. Haven't had a primary physician for over 35 years. I Went to my 1st appointment with Dr. Derek HILTZ at OPTUM on Pasadena Blvd. In St. Petersburg today. What a Wonderful, Caring Man!! Took time explaining all of my results (B.P. and E.K.G., etc.). Best physician I have Ever dealt with in my 66 years of life!! The office staff...ALL of them are Just As EXCEPTIONAL as Dr. HILTZ!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL GROUP!! Dealt with 4 of the staff members and Very Happy with Every One! Entire Visit was just Wonderful and helped greatly improve my opinion of the entire Medical World! Thanks So Much For Everything!! There is obviously a reason this man has such a low rating! I wish I would have known before my dad ever stepped foot in his office. I was just informed that he called my mother and told her that he has been “following” my dads reports while he has been in ICU , for a month, after a complex cervical spine revision that has almost killed him. Not yet Dr……He said “I am going to tell you what palliative care and the many doctors and nurses won’t , and that is your husband will never come off a ventilator and will spend the rest of his life in a nursing facility until he dies” This is not only unethical but a complete lack of compassion for human life. My mother and my family have been so distraught over this man’s lack of understanding my dads life and personality while he draws conclusions not based on facts but assumptions. This “Doctor” needs his license revoked in my opinion.

Please read all these negative reviews....!!!! Terrible, terrible, terrible.... Doctor. He was suggested by my insurance company. READ all the negative reviews.

My wife and I both had appointments this morning as new patients. I want to say we have never been more pleased and impressed with Dr. Hiltz and his entire staff. Dr. Hiltz is pleasant, courteous and very professional and has an excellent team. The office was immaculate. We both look foward to a return visit. Awful. Horrible. Egregiously condescending. Rude. Lazy=could offer treatment for something but won't. Doesn't listen. Interrupts.
