Very nice office and staff.
Love this place! I was able to get a new patient appointment within a week. They listened to me, care about my health and offer options without judgment.
After two years of living in a new city and trying to establish new doctors seemed almost impossible until I called Docs Outside The Box, they were able to get me in almost immediately for ‘chronic’ body aches and exhaustion. I wasn’t sure how it’d be as every dr I’ve seen before would just push drugs w/o finding the reason why I was actually in pain. This place did, I had a one hour appointment chatting about everything, went for blood work and ran SO many tests(thank you BCBS) and f/u for another hour w/ detail of lab results, exercise plan, nutrition(eating all my vitamins, rather than taking a bunch of drugs) and starting to live an organic, non gmo lifestyle. It’s more challenging and costly grocery shopping now but worth it.
Horrible experience me and family have had at this place please avoid. This is a dark place they have been down to do back ally surgeries and transplants there buy and sell body parts in the middle of the night crazy world
Based on the reviews I have read and the owners response I will absolutely not go here. I'd advise anyone reading this to research this place and their staff. It is blatantly obvious when a front office staff pushes their patients around and treats them poorly and then it blows up in their face when one doesn't stand for it. I have read the full email chain between them and a patient and they are in full PR cleanup mode and are definitely in the wrong. I choose my medical care very carefully and I am truly thankful I saw this prior to making an appointment.
Before you come here; just search “Docs Outside The Box Tampa Reddit” on Google. You’ll discover 500+ reasons not to engage with these folks Update: They have not responded to my email regarding their response and have failed to provide all of the notes from my PA. (Their response below is the first time the two doctors have attempted to engage in any meaningful dialogue with me since my original review. Clearly they care more about their outward appearance than their actual patients) Seek care elsewhere I’ve been really pleased with docs outside the box for their compassionate care and dedication to holistic medicine. I’ve seen Tyra for more primary care needs and she’s been excellent. However, I was advised to seek medical marijuana treatment, and was excited to get my license with them. Scheduled an appointment 2 weeks in advance for 12:25. A day before the appointment DOTB called and asked if I could come in at Noon instead. I moved my meetings around and obliged. I show up to my appointment at 11:45 expecting to wait for around 20 minutes. I’m now writing this review an hour later from the parking lot riddled with anxiety and feeling really frustrated. I was asked to pay in advance and was told I cannot receive a refund for at least 2 weeks. Fairly disappointed and will likely not return back to Docs Outside the Box for any care if this is the way they value their patients time.
First few times where a delightful experience and I enjoy going here because of the more holistic approach. This time it felt as though I was being blown off. I set the appointment, I took time off of work and it is both of our time. Except for the fact I am not getting paid to go here and am using my vacation time to do so. I understand if some of these things do seem like a big deal to you but when someone is experiencing them. It’s not fun! I feel like I had to talk the doctor into taking me more seriously this time. It’s already stressful enough. On top of that instead of my regular copayment. I was charged for 3. Not everyone is made of money and I’m always willing to pay my copayment. How did 3 get missed? I’ve been happy to pay each time. Also the billing department lady gave me the death stare from across the room for a good minute! I’m just trying to make sure I’m not getting charged extra and it’s not my fault if you didn’t charge me properly the other 2 appointments. I have a right to be there and ask questions. My health and my money are important; as is everyone’s
I went to Docs Outside the Box as I needed to get a physician to prescribe BHRT for me. They didn't take my insurance but I needed the prescription. I was told it would cost anywhere from $128-$225. Well it cost $223. A week or so after my appointment, I looked at my patient portal and I saw a $53 credit. I had labs done and had scheduled a telemedicine appointment with Docs to go over my lab. So, I was ready for my appointment and no one showed virtually up. I called and got one scheduled the next day and waited past the appointment time. The doctor or her assistant finally came on and went over my labs with me and transf me to the front desk for payment. They charged me $128 for a ten minute phone call to go over my labs. I was shocked at this exorbitant cost just to go over labs. The front desk person said that I got a cash paying patient discount as they bill insurance $256 for a 10 minute call to go over labs. I called billing and asked about the $53 dollar credit on my portal and she said it as a coding error and went to my original payment. I will never go back or refer my family or friends to them. They are money driven and not responsible to our broken healthcare system.

I’m 3 weeks in and already feeling better along w/ losing 5 lbs so far. It’s more challenging and costly grocery shopping now but worth it.
Very amicable and pleasant staff with a comforting atmosphere kudos! I would definitely recommend it to family and friends in the area.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
