Margaret Higgs's Online Review Report Card

I have been seeing Dr. Higgs for several years. Dr. Higgs has always been there for me because I believe she truly cares, yet at the same time is professional and knowledgeable.

I saw Dr Higgs for a few years. For some reason, her office felt it was ok to give out my personal cell phone, Instagram handle, and email to complete strangers (I am an animal rescuer). It was beyond unnerving to receive messages stating “Dr Higgs gave me your contact info.” When I called to try to speak with the doctor about why my info was given out I was given the run around. No one returned my calls for weeks. When they finally did respond, I was told that because Dr Higgs doesn’t accept insurance she does not have to comply with HIPAA. To make matters worse, she would not release my records to my new doctors thereby interrupting my continuity of care. I’ve never had a more disappointing experience with a supposed medical “professional” in my life. To make matters worse, when I was her patient, Dr Higgs no-showed on one occasion, leaving me sitting in an unlocked and unattended psychiatry office. My prescriptions would be left in a drawer in table in the waiting room for me to pick up. Some of these prescriptions were for a benzodiazepine—a controlled medication. Proceed with this office at your own risk.

Dr. Higgs is an exceptional physician. She truly cares about each patient and works closely with you to help with your personal needs. She takes the time to get to know you and evaluate your medications - what's working and what is not and will fine-tune your meds until you are feeling better. She genuinely cares about you. If you are having a tough time she is the doctor you want to call.

Dr Higgs is excellent and has helped me navigate the confusing issues associated with multiple diagnoses. I spent years searching for at least some relief and Dr Higgs has been the only professional who cared enough to work with me so caringly and according to my particular needs.

I've seen Dr. Higgs for over 10 years and I find her to be very personable, patient and understanding, which hasn't been my experience with other psychiatrists previous to her. She takes the time to come up with the best "game plan" and is always available if/when something arises and I need to get in touch with her. Five stars, in my opinion, is actually lower that what I'd give her...she deserves ...

I have been to several doctors over the years for anxiety and depression and by far Dr. Higgs is the best. She immediately understood my issues and prescribed meds to help me. As important as her ability to prescribe the right medications, Dr. Higgs is compassionate and very giving of her time. My other doctor just wanted to write me a script and have the next patient come in every 15 minutes. You will not find this here; I am so grateful that I was referred to Dr. Higgs! I am now going to couples counseling with her and each time we walk away with wisdom and guidance. I cannot recommend this wonderful doctor enough!
