List of Roland Lajoie's Reviews
He retired. Miss him greatly. Highly intelligent. An endo w/ great knowledge of thyroid and diabetes
Having left my previous Dr because of a lack of care or understanding of my condition Dr Lajoie was a true breath of fresh air. He took the time to explain to me everything that was going on with my condition. I did not feel rushed in the least. He took the time to not only explain what he was doing but also to answer every question I had. He has a wonderful bedside manner and I felt so relived when I left his office. I finally found a Dr that not only took the time to explain exactly what I needed to do and how he was going to help me. I would recommend him to anyone with diabetes who wants a Dr that knows his field.
Sorry I can't give a good review. I saw this doctor almost two months ago for a 2nd opinion on all the thyroid tests I had been given. All of my tests are normal but I still have nodule. He recommended I get a biopsy to make sure and said he could do it in this office. Great right? Well I had Cigna insurance when I saw him but I was transitioning jobs and I told his office my insurance would be changing and it was going to be United Healthcare. The office staff said they don't take United but they were working on accepting it and scheduled me for an appointment for like a month later. Well now I finally have my insurance and called back to see confirm and now they said they aren't going to take United Healthcare but they would leave him a message to see if he could send me to a hospital for the biopsy or recommend someone else for me to go to. Never got a call back. I waited a few days and just called the office again said I never heard back. The girl I spoke with said well, he wouldn't refer you to anyone else and we aren't accepting your insurance. "have you ever been here before she said?" Um Yes I said, but she never asked me who I was. She just me she was sorry they couldn't help me any further?! Look, I understand if you can't or won't take my insurance, but as a health care professional who is supposed to care, you can't even refer me to someone who can help me since you seemed to think it was so important I get a biopsy?!!! Really!? So this tells me they care about the money, not helping anyone. So I have to find another specialist and start over again.
I felt he backed up everything he said with research and studies. I felt his knowledge was exceptional. I had a disorder for 10 years that every other doctor missed. That disorder was not even related to my visit. If you want the best, he's your guy.
He never listened to me, interrupting me constantly and made sure I didn't exceed my fifteen minutes whether my questions were answered or not. He told me all his patients are on the same regimen; totally lacks the understanding that each person is an individual and so is their diabetes. I asked him six years ago for a pump, only to be told (with an attitude) "You don't need one!' My new endo told me during my first visit that I was a prime candidate for a pump. Now that I have had one for a couple of months my blood sugar numbers are far more stable. I only wish I had left six years ago - I would not have kidney disease.
If you don't have one of the only 2 types of insurance he takes, your out of luck.
This dr is awesome. I had been under the care of another endocrinologist who was terrible. Dr. Lajoie took his time with me, explained my options, and came up wit ha great treatment plan. I'm looking forward to getting better. I highly recommend him.
I would not recommend this doctor
Dr LaJoie is a great doctor. Unlike every other practice I've visited, he does not overbook his schedule. He is always prepared with advance review of my file and he won't end an appointment until my questions are answered.
Great with appointments made while out of state, staff very attentive and helful, Dr. LaJoie very accomodating.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
