I'm 78 years old and of all the doctors I've encountered, Dr. Handelman has been the most attentive and knowledgeable. Whether it's a serious or minor problem, he gives it his utmost attention. He has even taken time to help me with tech issues with my phone. When my insurance won't approve tests like an MRI, they can expect a call from him. He greets you with a smile and positve attitude. He definitely deserves a 5 star.

My husband is a retired disabled veteran and my insurance is TRICARE Prime. The copay for primary care physician is $20. Dr. Handelman was my primary care physician but he was charging me $31 for specialty care. When I pointed out this is incorrect, he refused to change the copay and told me to get another provider. TRICARE was informed and is investigating Dr. Handelman for insurance fraud. If any Veteran or dependent on TRICARE Prime is a primary care patient of Dr. Handelman and is being charged specialty copay instead of primary copay, this is insurance fraud and must be reported to TRICARE and the State Board of Medicine ASAP!!

I was participating in a virtual doctor visit with Dr Handelman when he instantly recognized I was in a life threatening medical situation. He directed me to immediately proceed to the ER. Good thing, as I spent the next 8 days in ICU. Where, were it not for the quick action by Dr Handelman and his incredible medical knowledge and experience, I would not be here today. He was also at the hospital every day to direct my care. Thanks to him and the tremendous staff I am currently recovering and my prognosis is good. Dr Handleman is an amazing professional who demonstrates a level of expertise unmatched by any other physician I have known. But, equally important, he couples that expertise with genuine care and compassion for his patients. His staff is also amazingly responsive and always provides great care. Dr Handelman is a superstar to me and my family. I encourage anyone to seek out Dr Handelman and Bay Area Medical for the very best care available. Truly the best!

Dr. Handelman is the best Doctor ever. He doesn't push pills on you that you don't need and is extremely compitent. I wouldn't think of going to any other Doctor in FL. He is always there when you need him and goes out of his way to help any way he can. Mary Lou Gallagher

We were on vacation from Montreal, Canada and my mom had a stroke. Dr. Handelman treated her. My mom can’t stop talking about Dr. H saying how thorough, patient and kind he is. Dr. Handelman is one of a kind. We were on vacation and my mom had a stroke. Dr. Handelman was the one to treat my mom. He took his time explaining everything, we never felt rushed. He is very educated and makes his patients feel at ease. He helped us through this difficult time when we were so far away from home. Thank you for everything you did for my mim Dr. H. You are truely a wonderful doctor!

I've been a patient for 2 years, and my son is now a patient. We find him to be very friendly and informative. I never love going to the doctor, but he seems to be a good one!

This guy knows his stuff. Within 36 hours found my Pancreatitis and had me back on track. Serious condition but dealt with quickly and effectively. Had no clue about his work history until seeing this site but it looks like he has a lot of practical experience to rely on.

Dr. Handelman has been my 94 yr old mother for many years. She was recently taken by ambulance to the hospital for high blood pressure and confusion. She has been in the hospital for 2+ days and after a TEE and other tests, after many calls to both him and his office I cannot get him to call me and give me any information. I live in MI and have POA and have no family in FL. She has been in an independent living facility for 6 years and has been doing.well. Not so well now. Cannot get any info
