Rodriguez Joel's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Joel Rodriguez is the worst surgeon. He put a mesh in me which wasn't needed or approved by me. I developed a rash and I had to find out at the ER about the mesh. I didn't have a real appointment with him, only face time and he ta;ked to me for about 2 minutes before the surgery, I don't think I even had a hernia neither he did anything to it. The rash was on my right side which shows that he didn't even put the mesh where it was supposed to be. Please be careful, he only does things for the Money!!

I had Gall Bladder surgery a few years ago, I never had any issues, he is a great Doctor

I had a cholecystectomy about three weeks ago. I have healed very well, the process went smoothly. No complications, I am so thankful.

I had dr Rodriguez take my gallblader out in July 2020. Let me tell you surgery during the middle of Covid was scary. Dr Rodriguez kept calm even when I went home and had internal bleeding that's rare but worse case scenario happens. Dr. Rodriguez kept communication the entire time. I had to take an Ambulance to the emergency room where Dr. Rodriguez met me and tried to calm me down the best he could. When I woke up Dr. Rodriguez was there to assure me everything was going to be ok and without family being able to see me due to Covid restrictions his words definitely my comfort. He made sure any discomfort I had during healing was dealt with and kept in touch with my healing. The Ambulance was a bit of a hardship on me but Dr. Rodriguez and his staff got to the bottom of it. I was the worse case scenario during a world pandemic but I know I probably wouldn't of had better care or communication had Joel not been my doctor. Thank you so much for going the extra mile

Dr. Rodriguez & his staff were amazing! There never was a lack of communication & they answered all my questions even when I thought they were silly. They listened to all my concerns & always got back in a timely matter. For anyone that is contemplating weight loss surgery, I highly recommend you give these guys a call; you won't be disappointed!

I had galbladder surgery and the team was absolutely fabulous. They kept me informed, and their teledoc option really made me feel better in this scary COVID-19 time.

This was the best decision I have ever made! I have tried losing weight and been successful but always gained it back. This has forced me to make life long changes and I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Rodriguez has been so kind from day 1. I always felt like he was listening and cared which is what I look for in a good doctor. He also was very good about following up after surgery. Also, Linda at Rio Surgical is amazing!! Such a sweetheart. She genuinely cares about each patient. They make me feel so special.My fear going to a new doctor is always feeling shame for my weight. I never once felt that way. Dr. Rodriguez was so positive and encouraging about making this life change. I am 11 months out of surgery and 120 pounds down! I absolutely recommend this place!! 🙂

I had the balloon done and I was able to keep it in for about 5 and a half months. The whole procedure was great and Dr.Rodriguez was very careful and precise about everything. Unfortunately I had problems of my own and couldn’t finish the whole process and had to remove the balloon three weeks early. I’ve lost 34 lbs the last 5 and a half months. Although I had difficulties of my own he would still make sure everything was going good. Nurse Karina was also very kind and patient. Their customer service and the help I received was amazing. I’ve been struggling with weight loss for about 16 years and I was never able to lose weight. I’m getting the balloon removed tomorrow. Overall I am satisfied with my whole experience because without this I would’ve never lost any weight. If I never had this procedure done I would’ve kept gaining weight. I would like to thank Dr.Rodriguez for everything and I had a wonderful experience!

I recently had gastric bypass with Dr. Joel Rodriguez on 5/27. Hr has to be one of the best surgeons EVER. Excellent bedside manner, checks on you constantly and is very nurturing. I’m a patient who resides in Dallas but went to have my surgery with Dr. Rodriguez and although I had a bariatric provider in Dallas, I have chosen to remain with Dr. Rodriguez in San Antonio. Now let’s talk about his team! Simply excellent! They provide 1st class customer service and check up on me constantly as well. They also cater to anything you need completed as far as forms and relaying messages to Dr. Rodriguez. Linda is just a gem!!! If you are looking for a Bariatric Surgeon, look no more!! You will not regret it! I would refer him a 1000x times if I could!

i CLEAEDOUT MY SAVING TO PAY FOR MY SURGERY BEFORE THE DATE. MY EMPLOYER HASBEEN TRYINGTO GET THIS OFFICE TO SUBMIT MY SHORT TERM DISABILITY PAPERWORK SINCE I AM NOT ABLE TO WORK, SO THAT I CAN RECEIVESOME INCOME UNTIL AIAM ABLE TO GO BACK TO WORK . I WASBLAMING MY EMPLOYER FOR SITTING ON IT BUT IT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE THAT ISN'T WOKING ON IT. i GUESS,I'S THE USUSAL THEY GOT THEIR MONEY TOO BADFORYOU.I'MVERY DISAPPOINTED AND VERY BROKE BECAUSE OF THEM. AND HAD A STROKE ON TOP OF EVEYHING ELSE.
