He starts out pleasant. Then after a couple of years of going to him and only getting series after series of Epidurals he gets upset and then pops up one day and wants a urine sample and blood sample - no problem for me! At the next appointment with him he is refusing to treat me due to "morphine in my lab results".....no! no! no! Doc Hammer - I am allergic to MORPIHNE!! And NO! I have not taken any type of morphine-like medications! He thinks that I would take morphine and endanger my life!!! What he did was to perform an expensive (sneaky!) testing procedure on my labs - GC/MS which breaks down your urine or blood down to the most minute substances that naturally occur in your body - that is what he found, not morphine!! On the way out of the office I overheard his office staff talking about how he is getting rid of his Medicare patients - guess what? I was one of his Medicare patients!! So he used the GC/MS and the results to get rid of me, a Medicare patient!! How is that for a professional???? I am glad he is in Florida - but beware Floridians he may do to you what he did to me!! Be afraid!! Be very afraid!!

Dr. Hammer is the most pleasant doctor that I've ever had the pleasure to meet. He truly cares about his patients and their well being. I met Dr. Hammer while he was practicing at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. I knew him to be an extremely professional and caring doctor. His bedside manner is very calming. Doctor Hammer takes as much time as is necessary with his patients. He is very sensible in his treatment methods. I have recommended him to others without hesitation. I found this forum while trying to locate Doctor Hammer through a Google search. I am recommending him to a friend from Florida who really needs his knowledge and help. That's how I ended up here posting this review of Dr. Hammer. I can honestly say that he is one of the Great Ones!
