Dr Pappas came in to my son's ICU room before surgery to check on him (for the first time even though he had been in ICU For two weeks). Having never met him not evaluated him before, he dropped a bomb on us and acted like we should let him die, even as the other physicians and nurses were saying he was improving. He said all his systems were shutting down even as the ECG was normal and O2 saturations were normal given his diagnosis of double pneumonia.
