I'm a 72 year old male who is 4 weeks post Afib Ablation. My experience has been outstanding with Dr Mathew as my Eletrophysiologist. He is experienced, knowledgeable, and direct with his diagnosis. I would highly recommend Heart Rythm Consultants along with SMH for your needs.

Dr. Mathews does not "do" post op appointments. Wish I had known that before he placed the Watchmen device in my heart. I am now in Afib (first time in 2.5 years) ever since the surgery. And he won't see me.....only the nurse practitioner will see me. Advised me to go to the ER ! No, I would not rec this doctor.

He made a special trip over to LWR Hospital's ER around 1 pm per my cardiologist's request and made all the arrangements to have me transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital for 2 ablations at 5:30 pm on a Friday night. I can't thank him and everyone at both hospitals for their kindness and help.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mathew since early 2013. Along with his outstanding education, background and experience, he is extremely compassionate and understanding. He listens to everything I say and relates his thoughts in a manner that I can understand as a patient. I would highly recommend Dr. Mathew.

I had a full cardiac ablation after trying to be shocked back into Rhythm 3 times it would not hold but after dr. Matthew performed the ablation 3 weeks ago I have been in perfect sinus rhythm and my energy has returned and I cannot say enough about dr. Matthew and how his skill gave me a new lease on life!

It is comforting to feel, I have selected, one of the very best, in trying to resolve my health issues. Bottom line , this is the one Doctor who just might make a difference in how I feel and most important, for how long.

Very knowledgeable doctor. My cardiologist referred me for ablation and the procedure went extremely well at SMH. It was overall painless with the exception of the anesthetic....(propanol or what ever) burned like the dickens when the anesthesiologist opened the valve.........very painful until you go out......then a breeze until you wake up in recovery. The procedure went well that day however, I will be going back for my re-check next week to see if it did the job or not. If not, I am told they do a complex ablation which gets much more involved. Over all, Dr Mathews is a very pleasant and knowledgeable individual whom I'd recommend to anyone requiring his expertise.
