Exactly the hands-on place I needed, with loving and forgiving nurses, techs, and other staff. This place saved my life twice, without exaggeration. The food and rooms are just okay, though.
These people have been more helpful than you can imagine. They have gone out of there way to help me with not only maintaining my sobriety but helping me with outside life issues. They have done more than their jobs require them to. I think each one of them plays a great role in making it a well put together team. They don't talk to you like there better than you because they know the struggles of life themselves and they dont speak to you like therecreading everything out of a book.I can litterely say from the help of first step my life has become 100x more stable than it use to be.They continue to help me with my life issues and if I'm having trouble with something they make calls to outside sources and call me back right away. I've been struggling with addictions my whole life and these people have helped me more than places I've paid thousands of dollars to.If you're having financial problems they will figure out a way to get you funding as well. I litterly feel like I owe these people that's how much they help me on a day to day basis. I give first step and first step of Sarasota 5stars all the way
More than likely, this is still where the court ordered people go. I won't tell battle stories but can say that the nurses are simply awful. If you are NOT court ordered to go to rehab/detox, then go somewhere else. Do not waste a dime going here.
The staff feel that they are better than the patient. They hold a higher power in their mindset. If they All were a little more kind. It would be an overall good place to go seeking help !! Ty
Lack of compassion and very selfish employees. Will allow some to quarantine in the program and with others make them leave until results come back. I personally know someone this has happened to who could of caught covid there or prior to getting there. When he got there they tested him and told him he had to leave until results came back. Employee said I'm not taking the chances so you have to leave. I dont understand why the program would send someone away from a place they were already at just to possibly infect other people outside of the program.
To call this place a rehab center is an extreme misuse of the term rehab. I'm surprised it's even still in business. I was sent to their court-appointed Crossroads program approximately 7 years ago and I had to share my experience. I did not get clean because of this place. Instead I was subjected to ostracism, told by a counselor I was potentially going to be a murderer...her name is Casey, hopefully she doesn't still work there. Our meetings were in front of large groups of people in which they would single you out and essentially break you down and reprimand you like a child. It is so incredibly easy to leave this rehab you can just walk out the front Gates. It's so incredibly easy to get drugs at this rehab, all you have to do is look right over the fence and you can get whatever you want. This place did not help me gain sobriety, it made me want to use...which I have now had for 5 years and I now counsel others. Quarters are incredibly cramped I shared a room with five other females. Many of these people are paying to be in this Rehab Center and they are definitely not getting their money's worth. The lack of activities is astounding. So much for not being bored because you will be sitting around the majority of the time you are here fantasizing about drugs. The staff demonstrates a total lack of disregard for the people that are there. They are not treated like human beings who need help, they are treated like common criminals. I have been to so many other rehabs in my life and this was by far the worst place I have ever been. I would never ever send anyone that I knew with an addiction to this place because I know that they are terrible there. It's almost borderline abusive the way they treat the patients and clients. They also put mentally ill people right next door to people suffering from a drug addiction. I do know this is a dual diagnosis Center, but that is just irresponsible when you have people who are obviously not saying in the same place with people who are simply trying to get over a drug addiction. In the three months that I was there, I got swine flu and was stuck quarantined in a room with other people who also had this at the time for over a week but we didn't even mind because it was the only time that we had adequate moments to ourselves in the shower. The list goes on and on, but basically it comes down to a staff who is not properly trained to deal with other addicts because they themselves are addicts who have not had enough clean time and they are extremely judgemental. Save your money and go somewhere else and if your court appointed here I would fight that tooth and nail. Thankfully I was sent to drug court after this and I got to live out the rest of my days to getting sober outside of a rehabilitation center with properly trained counselors in Manatee County.
The detox facility here is an absolute joke. The tech staff here, with few exceptions, are devoid of any sort of compassion or understanding for the needs of someone severely withdrawing from drugs or alcohol. They treat their jobs of helping clients as an inconvenience to them, while they mostly sit around the place and play on their phones. I was not offered a new change of scrubs for the entire week I was there, and the hygiene products were worse than what you would get at a seedy highway motel. Even during the times when you are so sick you can’t even leave your bed, the force you to get up all hours of the day and night to check vital signs and dispense medication, which should be something that is brought to the client while resting. Instead you are forced to get up and wait sometimes an hour just to take a few pills. I was literally told, “okay, you don’t want to get up, then you won’t get any meds, I don’t care.” The counselors and doctors are a bit better, atleast listening to your needs, although it seems perfunctory at best. This facility needs a serious review of overhaul of its operations, because in my opinion, it is not a safe place to detox at.
Great services for those suffering with opioid addiction free medication (suboxone) for those who qualify
Provides great services to me for my addiction problems for free.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
