Julio Cantero Md's Online Review Report Card

NEVER BEEN TO THIS OFFICE, BUT I WORK FOR A HOSPITAL AND ALWAYS HAVE TO CALL AND REQUEST FOR THE PATIENT'S RECORD FOR SURGERY, AND YOU CAN NEVER GET TO SPEAK TO ANYONE. THEY DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE OR DO THEY RESPOND TO THE MESSAGES FROM THE HOSPITAL.

Dr missed telehealth calls. Rushed in-person appointments. Dr. says the same spiel to almost every patient. Can't get medical results/recommendations in timely manner.

He is a wonderful doctor. The only thing wrong with him is there isn't 2 of him. He is so busy!!

Rushed, doesn't listen. Doesn't show for telemed calls. Won't provide a needed prescription or solution for a medical issue without a call.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Don't go here, unless you want to be mis-diagnosed and wait months for the proper forms to be sent to the insurance company, only after you call them daily to ask them. It is now too late for my dad's health, after months of getting run around.

I would leave negative stars if I could. This was by far the worst overall medical experience I have seen and been involved with. The doctor is charming, but that is the only positive about him. He gave very vague answers about my dads memory problems, with no resolutions, convinced it was nothing major. After multiple visits and a drastic decline in memory over the course of several months, I finally convinced him to do a PET scan, only to wait 2 months for his office to send the correct forms to the insurance company and imaging center. Once the results came back that my dad have early on-set Alzheimer's, the doctors only response after reading the results to us was " well, see this is what we already knew. At least now you can get your end-of-life plan in order." My dad is 59 and is now several stages deep into it. If treated properly to begin with, he could've started the meds to almost 8 months ago before the rapid decline.

I have been going to Dr Cantero for over 4 years. I would not change him for anyone else. Dr. Cantero not only takes the time to listen, but always does what is best for me and my pain. Highly recommended.

Recently I accompaniment my brother to his apt with Dr julio Cantero. My brother has sleep apnea plus he 75 lbs over weight! I was in hopes that Dr Cantero would seriously address my brothers obesity, since he is on high blood pressure medicine and thyroid medicine! we waited in the small waiting room for 40 minutes. When Dr Cantero came in he stayed in the room with us for 6 minutes when I tried to bring up the issues of my brothers obesity and that the doctor could offer some nutritionist or dietitian I get my brother to take is obesity seriously! The only thing Dr Catero said was there's a program at Sarasota Memorial Hospital? I have not been able to find this program nor to Sarasota Hospital take our insurance he asked my brother if he wanted to sleep apnea machine and it took two months before he got it. I would hope that a doctor would take this situation more seriously address the weight issues tell him out dangerous it is is high salt diet which you shouldn't be on is nutritional needs which my brother knows nothing about 6 minutes after waiting for 40 minutes in the office is unacceptable I do not recommend doctor Catero to anyone with weight problems which accompany sleep apnea very disappointed in any help from the doctor

Dr Cantero and his support group are all outstanding! In addition to being a great dr He is very inspirational and always makes me laugh. That's a big plus especially when you are feeling well, not your best.
