List of Katon Floyd Md's Reviews
This doctor and accompanying nurse were not what we expected out of Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The nurse barely made an appearance and the doctor paced the hallway, with little interaction with my husband. It was only a severed pinky, but 6 1/2 hours was unnecessary. Doctor disappeared after he couldn’t stop the bleeding, when all he had to do was cotterize it. We had to find the nurse who wasn’t aware drug test was done an hour prior, so discharge paperwork was extremely delayed. Had to tell doctor employee required drug test due to workman’s comp., and specialist had to explain it to Dr Floyd. We realize they have other patients that take priority, but we were not noticed at all. I flagged someone down in the hall to get a urinal for my husband to go to the bathroom, which I assisted, due to no staff checked on his needs. Not sure of the name of the nice gentleman who found the urinal in the supply cabinet, but he was a great help.
I was in the emergency room with severe lower pain and he treated me as a drug seeker and misdiagnosed me. As it turned out I returned to the emergency room with a fever and increased pain. It was then accurately diagnosed as an abscess on my spine which required surgical intervention. I was very close to paralysis.
He sure needs to work on his bedside manner and think before he opens his mouth. He left my husband very anxious by telling him they were going to get an X-ray to see if their was cancer! Then he leaves the room and 4 hours later the results say no meanwhile my husband was a nervous wreck
When a patient tells you what medications they have been prescribed in the past and work for them, don't call them a drug seeker.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
