List of Peter L Mayer's Reviews
Dr. Mayer recently performed a very delicate surgery on my loved one. He kept the family informed on her progress and was professional and kind. His associate, Dr Fine, who covered for him on the holiday was also helpful. I was very pleased at the outcome of the surgery for my family member as Dr. Mayer is very skilled and well-educated. She was in good hands with him. He truly is one of the nicest docs I have ever met!
He will do. Surgery on lower back June 9 and I’m looking forward to it doctor and God gave me life back
He is completely unprofessional, horrible bed side manner, highly condescending and arrogant. I sure wouldn't trust him for my health care needs after his visit with me in the hospital. He was never my Dr. to begin with! I'm holistic, 74, and don't do any shots and he kept calling e a spreader. He didn't give me any advice or help except calling me names, He had the nerve to charge my insurance company for his unhelpful unethical uvisit.. He's shameful!!!
Dr.Mayer is the best Neurosurgeon. He is very knowledgeable and very pleasant. I can’t say enough about his expertees. Always very pleasant
I made an appointment to see Dr. Peter Mayer weeks ago and have had multiple conversations with his staff regarding the appointment, getting my medical records over to them, and so forth. I arrived at my appointment approximately 20 mins early for my appointment on 10/26/2022 at 2:30pm. I checked and and filled out the requested paperwork where I was advised to have a seat and wait for my appointment. After waiting I was called back for my appointment where the nurse proceeded to ask me if my father and I were both vaccinated for Covid-19, I replied I do not have the vaccine but my father does and the nurses response was that the doctor only sees patients who are fully Covid vaccinated and that she would be right back so we sat back down and waited. We were then called up to the check in desk where I was told there is no one else available today and was asked if I could see one of the other doctors PA’s for the next appointment which wasn’t until December…… I’ve already waited about a month for this appointment, had to take a half a day off of work to make it to this current appointment so I lost a half a days pay and had to drive 45 mins to get there each way to then be refused for service due to not having a non-mandatory vaccine……. Which is absolutely unacceptable to delay someone’s care after they have been anticipating a solution to their health issues especially one as painful as back issues. If this is a requirement that this office or specific doctor has they need to stop wasting peoples time and money and advise of this ridiculous requirement before making appointments for people. The staff did not tell me when I called to make the appointment or any of the other times that I had spoken to the staff in the weeks leading up to the appointment as I was getting them my medical records ect. Or even when I first got to the appointment and checked in. I was also informed by the staff that Dr. Mayer is the ONLY doctor who has this requirement at their facility and that none of the other doctors have that as a requirement which once again should be advised before appointments are made if he has such an issue with non-vaccinated individuals instead of wasting everyone’s time. I also was never asked to provide any proof of vaccination or sign any paperwork stating I was actually vaccinated so it’s unfortunate that one simple yes or no answer determines if you are provided healthcare.

Dr. Mayer operated on my back more than 20 years ago and I have never had a problem since. Recently, he performed a three-level surgery on my neck and I have had an excellent result. I would trust this doctor with my health and the health of my family. I cannot offer a strong enough recommendation. He is incredibly skilled and a great human being.
We arrived to the office for my wife to have her back looked at as a follow up from the ER. She filled out paperwork that was requested by staff and we waited with masks on. When we got up after being called we where asked if we had the Covid-19 shot. We both said “No.” The lady asked us to have a seat and wait. About 10 or 15 minutes went by before she called us back up. She took our temps and let us in. After waiting for Doctor Mayer he walked in without knocking. He asked my wife how she was feeling before asking her how old she was. He then questioned what she did for a living before raising his voice and stating “Why didn’t you get the covid shot?” My wife said “I elected not too.” He then turned to me asking have I been vaccinated. I told him no. He’s crossed his arms and stood at the backside of the room. My wife replied “ Nobody said it was requirement to be seen.” Doctor Mayer responded with “ Its not the office it’s me! Some how you slipped through the. back door!?” At this point my wife was upset from being discriminated against and we informed him”Clearly you are uncomfortable and we are leaving now.” The sad part is he will probably try to bill the insurance for this visit and write that this was refusing treatment. He was aware before we stepped back we didn’t have shots and could have refused before we ever got back there. We did not feel comfortable with this individual conducting possible back surgery on my wife. As far as I’m concerned he failed as a doctor and a professional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
