List of Peter R. Quarles's Reviews
Ive been going to Dr. Quarles for over 10 years and he is by far the best doctor that I have ever had. Dr. Quarles takes the time to explain things to you in a way that you can understand.
Very friendly knowledgeable and helpful. Quickly sends rx to pharmacy and expedient with anything else you need. Thanks Dr. Quarles
His nurse treated us so rudely. Dr Quarles said he would figure out what was going on with a frustrating medical situation and than promptly dismissed me from his practice with no explanation. He would forget what he said or what we were dealing with from one appointment to the next. Never knew who I was though I was a patient for many years. I wish him well but could never recommend him or this over busy practice. You will just be a number and his nurse was an incredibly rude gatekeeper. All around a very discouraging experience.
I would give him two and a half stars if that was an option. I dont know whether Dr Quarles doesnt listen to me or maybe doesnt believe me. I have some medical issues that I clearly know more about than he does. Ive had gout for more than 30 years. When gout initially attacks one 50 MG pill of Indomethacin 3 X day is not going to slow down or ease the pain of the attack. He doesnt understand that. I have ADD and have been on heavy doses of both Ritalin and Adderall under Psychiatric care for over 25 years. When I 1st arrived here and hadnt found a new Psychiatrist yet he refused to prescribe the medications I needed. I had to get them from my former Psychiatrist in Virginia.
He is knowledgeable patient
Takes 2 month to get an appointment for a annual physical and then cancels the appointment with no options to accommodate patients other than to wait next available appointment 2 month later. Staff well trained to not help patients
Dr. Quarles has been my physician for more than 20 years and I am both comfortable and pleased with being in his care. He communicates well and seems sincerely concerned with my welfare. Best GP I have had in my 87 years.
Dr. Quarles has been my PCP for the past 15 years and I have not really needed him until the past two years. The office was always the issue and you could never get into see him if you really needed to and they continually rescheduled appointments but I stayed with him as I liked him. I started having issues and he couldn’t see me so I went to urgent care and they seemed to help a little. I finally got an appointment after 2 months and he was concerned so he sent me to a Neurologist in there
I finally got an appointment after 2 months and he was concerned so he sent me to a Neurologist in there practice. They couldn’t see me for over 4 months so I called the office and his nurse told me that I if I didn’t like that I would have to find my own care that is a great Doctors office. I took it upon myself to see multiple specialist through Florida hospital and found I had a tumor larger than my right kidney which they promptly removed. If I waited for Dr. Quarles I would probably not be around right now. All he seemed to want to do was push patients through and prescribe drugs. I finally after the office moving appointment got an appointment to see Dr. Quarles for follow up and physical Friday. I called 2 hours prior to my appointment as I had another appointment after his and wanted to make sure we would be on time as appointments with Dr. Quarles normally ran 3060 minutes behind schedule. I arrived 20 minutes prior to appointment and again asked if he was on time and the assured me he was on time. 15 minutes late they took me to the room after another 30 minutes of waiting I got dressed and as I had to leave. As I was getting ready to walk out Dr. Quarles came in. Calmly I told him I couldn’t stay and I couldn’t do this anymore trying to explain the wait time and all I had been through but he told me “just leave” again I tried to explain and he said “what do think I have been outside just drinking coffee” I again tried to explain but he stormed out of the room telling “just get out”. Maybe he had a bad day but he never once tried to apologize for the delay and he made it seem like I was putting him out. I would caution anyone from using Intercostal Medical Group as they are not there for the patient and Dr. Quarles though he seems like a good Dr. after I witnessed his display I will never see him again.
Dr. Quarles demonstrates a very caring and knowledgeable approach. He takes time to be sure you understand he’s assessment and diagnosis. Equally important he is very proactive on preventive health management. He’s a gentleman with whom I am very fortunate to have as my primary physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
