Vernu Visvalingam's Online Review Report Card

I have been a patient of Dr Visvalingam for a few years for liver problems. As was my Adult son for his Chrones issues.When I approached him about a problem I was having with swallowing food and liquids. After a few tests he recommended that he perform an Endoscopy. Trusting Dr. Visvalingam explicitly I agreed thinking he would find a simple remedy.When I awoke from the Endoscopy Dr. Visvalingam was at my bedside. I was fully at ease with whatever he told me. I was 54 years old my only concern was obviously for my wife and children.Dr. Visvalingam told me that he had taken a number of Biopsies however that he felt I had the appearance of Oesophageal Cancer He calmly yet adequately explained the possible meaning of this which due to his manner enabled me to understand what my prognosis may mean which didn’t shock or upset me whilst fully comprehended.I can only imagine how I may have reacted had it not been for Dr. Visvalingam. Without his tenacity training and experience I feel that I would NOT BE ALIVE. Oesophageal Cancer is quite uncommon with very little expectation of survival over 18 months That was in October 13th 2016.Within a day Dr. Visvalingam called me and gave me a schedule of testing and appointments with other Providers.Along with his assurance that if I had any questions that I should call his Nurse she would immediately summon him. I would have found this remarkable from any other M.D. but felt that Dr. Visvalingam really did have my well being at the forefront.I would recommend Dr. Visvalingam to any person in need of a G.I. Doctor just as I did my Son.I feel privileged to know Dr. Visvalingam and am proud to have him as MY Physician.

Worst doctor I have ever had. He wouldnt return my calls about the tests he took nor let me know how I came out in all the procedures. I left so many messages with his office and no calls back. I ask for a copy of my test results and none were sent. I went into his office to see him and he wouldnt come out and yes he was there. I wrote several letters to him asking him my test results and to please see me or call me and nothing again. He needs to be investigated and have his lic. taken away for good. All he wanted was the MONEY and provided VERY BAD CARE.

Entered the room did not even look at me went to the paperwork and asked me after my rectal cancer did I have surgery. I said no. He acted like he did not believe me Then he walked out. I then walked out and when asked when I wanted to schedule the colonoscopy.... NO THANK YOU I will find another doctor.

I had a Endoscopy for symptoms I was having on my follow up Dr. Visvalingam became upset with me because I said I still had the symptoms as if it were my fault he didnt find any reason for them.

Easiest colonoscopy and endoscopy Ive had. Really efficient and business like in preparation. Great bedside manner. follow up was flawless and professional. Dr. spent as much time as I needed to understand my conditions.
