Don't go to this doctor if you value your health.

I went to Dr Fonji once and will not be back. Look elsewhere if you don’t want to be charged incorrectly for your visit. I came in for the first time for a wellness visit, which is fully covered by my insurance. He asked about my medical history which we discussed briefly. I was later billed for the appointment and found out through insurance this was billed as an “illness” visit. I called to inquire. The NP was immediately defensive and counted off that she saw TWELVE illnesses on my chart from the visit (I have 0, one if you include the allergies I advised him of). The NP made me very uncomfortable on the call, stating nothing can be done and then getting frustrated and without getting into detail, suffice to say she was extremely unprofessional. Their claim for why I was billed is because I am a new patient, which no other doctor has ever done for this type of scenario, and the visit was specifically billed as “ILLNESS”. They were uncooperative in actually proving that this is an acceptable reason to bill me.

Dr Fonji is a nice doctor, but his staff is so lacking in people skills, patient privacy, and knowledge.. If he cleared out his staff and started over, he would probably be better off.

Dr. Fonji is my primary care physician. I recently received my regularly scheduled wellness checkup. Dr. Fonji reviewed all of my test results with me explaining anything that was of interest, then reviewed all of my current prescriptions. Then answered all my questions and concerns.

Dr. Fonji, excellent for listening, orders, and confidence. Trust and gentle bedside manner. His front office staff, Miss Tamara, is also a vital, important part of this office, smiling and always positive. The med assistant could use a class on what is appropriate to say, discretion is crucial, especially if training a new person, or embarrassing the patient. Also, Miss or Mrs. Mr. by name, not Dear or Hon or sweetie. Chart info is critical. Discretion is very, very, important. Think before you speak.

I've been seeing Dr Fonji for some time, he is very professional and kind. He does listen to you and he does the best he can do. I'm really happy to have him as my Dr.

Dr. Fongi is a very competent physician, who takes time to thoroughly evaluate me at each office visit. He has my best interests when discussing my plan of care. I highly recommend him as a primary care physician.

I moved to FL from NY a little over a year ago, I couldn’t get established with a PCP for months, then the Pandemic hit and I couldn’t get a PCP at all. I very recently found Dr Fonji and started as a new patient with him today. I HIT THE PCP JACKPOT!! Dr. Fonji is a wonderful doctor. He is calming, and he LISTENS to your concerns. He spent quite a long time with me, I never felt rushed, he answered all my questions and concerns, and he is extremely thorough. His assistant was very friendly, and also took her time, and the women at the front desk were sweet and smiling. I will be a patient of Dr Fonji for life, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a caring, compassionate PCP. A big thanks to Dr. Fonji and his staff!

My husband has had ongoing issues for nearly 10 years that no one, including the Mayo Clinic, could not figure out. In an urgent situation, Dr. Fonji took him on as a new patient, carefully listened, thoroughly examined and ordered lab work no one bothered to do previously which finally led to answers and an actual diagnosis. We are grateful for Dr. Fonji and highly recommend him and his kind office staff.

Trying to get established as a new patient and this doctor was less then willing to accommodate any of my needs. Was rude, short, wouldn’t refill any of my prescriptions and did absolutely nothing but waste my time. Will not be back and wouldn’t recommend to anyone.
