Have a hernia in my right lower epigastrium, which I went to have surgery on. He sewed up my umbilicus instead. When I went back for a follow up and asked why I still had a bulge one inch above my belly button, he told me that's not what he had operated on. When I asked him what he meant, as this is what I had come in to investigate and get fixed, he was completely dismissive, telling me that my muscles were just so strong that my tendon was popping out. Ultrasound proved it's a hernia.

I just had my surgery with Dr Whittwell 10 days ago and I feel amazing. I lost 10 lbs already! A total of 29 since I started this this journey in January. Dr. Whitwell is amazing I trust him 1,000%. He was highly recommmended and I believe he was the best choice for my bariatric surgery needs. I have recommended several others to him. Hands down the best in Miami. Office staff is also great. Friendly, professional and efficient. Overall great service.

Really good surgeon and doctor. Ingrid front desk assistant is the best! The wait time can be long but it’s definitely worth the wait. I cant thank Dr.Whitwell and Ingrid enough for their help during my weight loss journey!

I decided to Do a gastric sleeve about a month ago with dr Whittwell. I am 1 month in and I have lost 22 lbs . I was delayed one day in my surgery so instead of Thursday I did it on a Friday . Saturday the hospital was pretty empty and his day off so I thought he wouldn't come in but he sure did. Awesome bed manners. I wasn't a big fan of the hospital which is larkins community but other than that my recovery has been pretty smooth. His staff is friendly and helpful. Wait time is a little long but most doctors offices are .

Dr. Whitwell went over all the pros and cons of the different surgical approaches for a cholecystectomy. Even after outweighing the cons (increased possibility of an umbilical hernia) of a single incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (SILC) via Da Vinci, I felt confident that Dr. Whitwell could carry out the surgery with confidence and without complications. One month post op, I am happy with the aesthetics of having ONE scar inside/below the umbilicus.
