Cannot say enough good things about Dr Thompson! He did cataract surgery after I had had already had lasik some years earlier, and this can be a tricky procedure, but my vision is quite good. It could have turned out differently with a less skilled optometrist. I highly recommend him!

He performed cataract surgery on both eyes. He recommended a laser procedure on one eye ($1,500 not covered by insurance) and traditional surgery on the other eye. I was mildly nearsighted for many years and when I got older I occasionally wore drugstore glasses for reading. After the surgery my vision is the worst I have ever had. I now have to wear permanent trifocals. I told him how traumatic this was for me and he was not sympathetic. Said I should have read the brochures in more detail

My appointment with Dr Thompson left me feeling satisfied. He has a great warm chair side manner. He addressed my concerns after listening carefully and gave me a thorough examination and consultation. As a fellow clinician I easily recognized his professionalism, easy manner and intelligence.

Dr. Thompson took the time to explain the procedures that he was going to do. After the cataract surgery on my left eye, he came in to check to see how I was doing.

Once taken back to the exam room drops were always put in my eyes so the pressures could be measured. By the time Dr. Thompson came into the exam room he would have to add more drops. Meanwhile I had heard him in the hallway outside joking and talking with the staff. He was short when I asked questions and gave me contradictory answers from visit to visit. The staff also has the annoying habit of yelling as if patients are hard of hearing.

Beware, if you are prescribed eye drops for cataract surgery! After paying a $192 co-pay, I returned home with the drops to find that a generic was available. Upon calling the eye center I asked why a generic had not been prescribed only to be told "because that is what we do". I was then told that the eye clinic sells a kit containing the eye drops for $155 but nobody had told me about it because it is for surgery for two eyes. HUH???? I paid $192 for enough drops for one eye because for one eye they send the prescription to the pharmacy but I could have paid $155 for enough drops for two eyes. It's crazy. I feel they owe me the difference in the prices because they never offered me the less expensive option. They apparently assumed I would pay less at the pharmacy because I was buying less but they don't have a clue what my co-pay is for my insurance for medications.
