I've been a patient of Blackburn II for approximately 1 year and I absolutely recommend him to anyone with hand issues. I have a bad CMC joint in both hands and went to him because he explicitly spoke of that issue on his video and I had heard of joint replacement options. The guy is cutting edge. My next move is surgery with him.

Absolutely the best bedside manor I have experienced from a surgeon! I have been a nurse for 30 years and have a surgical background. Dr. Alan Blackburn is new to me as I am to him. Unfortunately I have broken a few bones since turning 50.I am happy that he is now my Dr.!He makes sure to explain the issue so you can understand it.I did not feel rushed, as I have at other Dr.s offices.The fracture, (elbow) I have was hard to see in xrays the first week I went. After two more weeks of exercising the area with weight restrictions, I went back for more xrays. I felt it was OK just a little sore. Dr. Blackburn found a very faint line indicating the break.Thankfully he did. Now more exercises and restrictions for a month.If he had not found it I could have done more damage and required surgery.

I will soon be having my third surgery with Dr. Blackburn. I wouldn't go to anyone else. Not only is he expert at what he does he also has an excellent bedside manner. He cares about his patients... And it shows!

Dr. Blackburn and the staff at South Florida Orthopedic & Sports Medicine are very knowledgeable and Dr. Blackburn’s bedside manner is a breath of fresh air, compared to some of the other medical facilities that I have been to over the years. The office is centrally located in Stuart, with ample parking. If you have difficulty in walking, the facility offers a free valet. The office, which is located on the fourth floor, is very clean, well organized and check in was a breeze. Total wait time in the waiting area was five minutes.I went to see Dr. Blackburn for a problem with my thumb and wrist. Within 20 minutes, x-rays were taken, analyzed and a diagnosis reached. Within five minutes of that, Dr. Blackburn was providing me with an injection to relieve the inflammation and pain at the sight of the injury. I’m not a fan of needles, but he was able to numb the area with a topical solution that resulted in a painless procedure.I’m currently wearing a temporary brace on the hand, but I realized immediate pain relief that night. I highly recommend Dr. Blackburn and his practice.
