Due to an illness, I was a patient at Jupiter Medical Pavilion for about 2 months. All of my doctors, hospitals, etc. before and after my stay at JMP were in network. Unfortunately, only one doctor was out of network — Dr. Ammar. Apparently he was the staff doctor. I saw him once a week when he listened to my heart and lungs. Perhaps he reviewed my file, I don’t know. Then months later I received a bill for $4105. My bill from JMP for all of my skilled nursing care, therapy, meals, etc was $18,104. I just feel Dr. Ammar’s fees are outrageous. He did nothing for me, so I can’t comment on his medical ability.

Dr Ammar is apparently the staff doctor for the Jupiter Medical Pavilion. I was there for rehab. He visited me once a week to listen to my heart and lungs. I received a bill from him for $4105 — at a rate more than neurological surgeons! My total bill from JMP was $18K for room, board, skilled nursing and PT. I can’t judge the doctors as all he did was listen to my heart and lungs. But I can say that his charges are outrageous.

DR. ALMAKKEE IS VERY CARING. HE LISTENS TO YOU AND ENGAGES FULLY TO FIND THE BEST TREATMENT AND CARE FOR YOU. HE WILL WORK WITH YOU ON EVERY LEVEL. VERY GRATEFUL TO HIM AND FOR HIM. NOT ONLY IS HE VERY KIND, HE IS ALSO EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE.

My wife and I care for my wheel chair bound and disabled mother and father-in-law who live in our home. Dr. Almakkee has been their primary care physician for over a year, and is obviously aware of her disabling stroke and his COPD. I work full time and my wife part time. I recently needed a letter stating that my mother in law was disabled and lived with us. Although he is aware of both of these facts, for some unexplained reason he was only willing to state that I "claim to provide care". There is nobody else but my wife and I, and I wonder who he thinks takes care of them when my wife is working. He would not state her or my father in law's conditions, or help me out in any other way. This is as inexplicable as it is outrageous. So now I am left with finding a new doctor to examine her and provide the letter, so that I can miss another jury duty reschedule (this time for work, last time for homecare) in order to keep my job. Dr. Almakkee is cold and uncaring...bordering on heartless. Stay away from this 'doctor' because he does not care a twig about the well being of your family.
