James Hoffman's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Hoffman has been my surgeon through two hip replacements. My outcome was great for both. Follow up visits always meet my needs and any questions are addressed with caring professionalism.I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Hoffman in particular.

Actually had a real conversation about my health care. Did try to convince me into getting something done that I didn't needed. Explained everything in detail the good and the bad. I would HIGHLY recommend him.

I always feel safe to go to South Florida Orthopedics. Dr Hoffman always tried simple treatments first and if not effective He will be more aggressive. All his staff is very respectful, courteous, professional and makes me feel comfortable.Dr Hoffman also listens to my issues and always explains the problems and the treatment recommended.

Dr. Hoffman was a 2nd. opinion evaluation for a bad fall I had. He explained everything throughly, & reassured me my injury did not require the drastic measures another doctor recommended. I’m so grateful, & scheduled for surgery quickly! I am confident to refer him as a 1st choice surgeon.

I had surgery with Dr. Hoffman on July 2020 I am 29 years old and was by far the worst surgical experience I have had pre and post op at South Florida Orthopedics Surgical Center and was completely unprofessional, I essentially felt like I was on a assembly line and them getting paid was a priority over my health and wellbeing. I went to Physical Therapy as instructed and my shoulder was not operated on properly and caused me pain and discomfort and weakness, so I got a MRI post op and Hoffman didn’t see anything and deflected any accountability. I then saw Dr. Carlson who told me to go back to Physical Therapy which proved to be a total waste of time and money because the surgery wasn’t done properly in the first place by Hoffman. I then got another MRI and Dr. Carlson finally saw something wrong almost a year later but said that the joint where Hoffman did surgery was done correctly and looked fine and suggested that I had a labrum tear. Needless to say, I didn’t get surgery again with South Florida Orthopedics, I saw another shoulder specialist at another practice and he immediately saw the mistake that Hoffman made on the MRI.. there was no labrum tear, and the joint where Hoffman sawed down was done incorrectly at a angle which caused me a lot of anguish for over a year.. I then had to spend 6 grand out of pocket and get another surgery to correct Hoffman's mistake.. in summary stay far away from this place if you value your time, money and health.

From first contact with Dr Hoffmans staff, to the last contact with his staff, everything was very professional and efficient.Dr Hoffman took ample time to explain my problem in detail to me. All my questions were answered definitively. When I left Dr Hoffman, I was fully informed and knowledgeable of my problem and a path to recovery.

He talked over my head. Didn't explain anything!! Told me that I had arthritis gave me some prednisone and to have a great day. X-rays showed nothing! I knew it wasn't arthritis!! I do not recommend him at all!! His is just an arrogant A$$ that calls himself an orthopedic surgeon! Never even followed up with me! Never even set up a check appointment after the meds! 🤬

Was very fast and helped my needs

This was my first visit to Dr. Hoffman but I’ve been using this facility since 2010. He was an excellent listener, doctor, and overall individual in my opinion. He was honest and told me he’d rule out any possibility of his helping with my hip to be sure but felt another doctor dealing with another area may be a better option for me. Within 30 minutes of leaving his office, he’d personally spoken to the other doctor and gotten me an appointment within days. He went above and beyond and as with every doctor I’ve seen there, he was wonderful. Would recommend to anyone!Joanna Petrosine

I consulted Dr. Hoffman about a problem with my knee that was not the result of an injury. He was thorough in getting to the root of the problem. He took the time to explain in layman's terms the problem and the pros and cons of each treatment to rectify it. I am happy to say that together we made the decision which didn't include surgery but has alleviated my pain and flexibility. I appreciated his talking through my options and what to expect and of course, for the relief of my pain.
