List of South Florida Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine's Reviews
Dr Husted is the worst!!! Walks into the room barely making eye contact then repeats his "speech" after every question and never really hearing what you are asking. After less than 5 minutes with us, he had not answered my questions and he tried to walk out and I had to ask him to wait a minute. No one should have to ask a question in 3 different ways to get an answer. This guy sucks and his reviews are proof. I wish we had seen these first! Go elsewhere if you value your dr patient relationship.
I've had Dr.Haas, Dr.Hoffman and Dr. Desman all treat me for different physical problems over the past 15 years. All three are the best doctors in the Stuart area as far as I'm concerned. Very experienced, competent and all three are no nonsense physicians.Dr. Haas is very experienced as are Hoffman and Desman so if you want to excellent care, those are your guys. The staff was very good and fast on my visits to both offices so no complaints. I've read some negative reviews that I didn't agree with. You must have patience and work with the staff not against them. They're trying to help you. Let them. You just can't beat this type of experience.
Dr. hill I wish you had stayed in the room and watched the giant wave of pain that seized my entire neck, shoulder and throat. I wanted to tell you something was wrong but you ran out and told us to have a nice day. It felt like you walked out right when I needed you most. the cortisone shot in my sternoclavicle was level 10 pain, but the pain that came next felt immeasurable. It took 15 minutes after the shot for me to be able to move or talk. Had my husband dig in my purse for a tylenol, I didnt know when the vise grip of pain would end.. My visit started with me in pain at the front desk and a clerk ask me to move out of the line so she can take a co worker's temperature. Then she went on to ask him where he was going to get lunch and maybe he could get her order. Followed by, my doctor isn't dialed into his bedside manner and care, and who dosn't' answer my questions except for yes , no, IDK. and I am his new patient. folks not sure if this doctor and clerk where having unprofessionals days. BUt i will say this i know for sure dont get a shot in your sternocavicle. I never cried so much from pain even while going through two, natural, unmedicated, childbirth. I will need a new doctor im not having ptsd with this guy
So I went to see Dr. Husted after seeing Dr. Hoffman and learning my hips weren't the issue, but my low back was. I have NEVER seen this man before and learned after checking in that I was being allotted 15 MINUTES as a new patient as a man was scheduled 15 minutes after my appointment time. They took 4 views of my low back. I asked one of the girls IF he treated upper back and was told no (as I had brought an MRI and results of severe disc herniation to discuss with him). He waltzes into the room, spends LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES with me and keeps asking me IF I had ever taken ibuprofen for the pain or done physical therapy for my back. I told him no as I take Gapentin for nerve pain related to 2 autoimmune conditions I suffer with and he NEVER went over my x-rays!I was trying to get established so when I am in severe pain, I could get a cortisone injection. After prescribing 12 PT treatments, he says he'll see me in 6 weeks and gets up and walks out. I had surgery many years ago with one of his colleagues and I was treated way better by him than Hoffman or Husted. They like 3 minute consultations with new patients.I'm very frustrated, aggravated and angry over the shabby way I was treated as a new patient!!!! I am a Senior Citizen and live in a different town than where this practice is -- the main reason I wanted to establish with him is because IF I ever require surgery, they are connected into a better hospital system than the one in my town. The ONLY positive thing I can say about this experience is he's a snappy dresser.
I was reluctant to write this rating, as my wife is still under their care, if you can call it that. My wife broke her left heal and hurt her right foot. The hospital gave her a prescription for a couple days worth of pain meds and her primary care doctor set her up with an appointment with Dr. Romano. Her pain level was such that she was crying and vomiting. We saw Romano. He forgot to call in the pain meds. We learned this when I went to the pharmacy to pick the meds up the next morning. I went to the office and picked up a paper script to bring to the pharmacy to get her some relief. She had been telling him about the pain in her right foot since the first visit. He ordered an MRI after three weeks of pain. I loaded her and her wheelchair into the car, went for the MRI, got her into the place and learned that he ordered an MRI of her left ankle, not her right foot. So, I got her back home and went in to the office to see if I could get an order for the correct body part. Once that was completed we learned that her right heal was broken too. So, over a month had passed and the pain levels were still high, she asked for some pain meds, as hers were depleted during that month. You guessed it, they never sent in that order either and that was after I had a conversation with his assistant who stated "she" would send it in. So, I drove up to their office and the assistant said we never discussed meds. This place is the worst.
Had a shoulder replacement in February and was at work and strained my shoulder. Fearing the worst I reported it to work and opened a workmen's comp claim. The adjuster didn't want to send me to my original doctor even though he was in the system. She referred me to Dr. Kam. After reading the reviews on Yelp! I feared the worst. Boy, was I wrong! His office was very friendly and professional. Had me in for x-rays before I could finish my paperwork. After that I was escorted to an examination room where the PA saw me immediately. Next Dr. Kam came in and he was very pleasant and professional. Asked why I didn't see my original doctor and I told him the adjuster felt he was "crazy expensive." He just shook his head. Read the X-rays, examined my shoulder, and complemented the original doctor for doing a nice job. He reassured me that I had just strained a muscle. I was on my way and felt relieved! Follow up in a month to make sure I'm healing properly. So, the Doctor was great, the staff was very pleasant and the only negative thing I have to say about my experience was that the parking lot is a nightmare. And I'm very selective about who I let treat me! Five stars!
The doctors and staff don't value your time and will have you sitting around forever. They should at least call when they are over an hour behind schedule.
Absolutely love the entire administrative staff at South Florida Orthopedic! Everyone is very knowledgeable and up to par with covid awareness. Both Port St. Lucie & Stuart offices handle patients in a very responsible, respectful and caring way. The nurses in both locations have the best bed side manners! In conclusion, Daniel S. Husted, MD, FAAOS, is extremely knowledgeable. My consult visit was quick and straight to the point. My appointment for an epidural was also quick and easy. Dr. Husted & his team made sure I was comfortable and understood the whole process of my procedure. Dr. Husted is very well versed in his profession. He also takes the cake for being the best dressed medical professional! When you meet him, you'll see what I mean.I couldn't be more pleased with my experience.Thank you so much!
Do not use South Florida Orthopedic for Pain Management. Very unprofessional and rude!. After 2 months waiting for the appointment I was told when I arrived at the office that they didn't have any records of my MRI and EMG. I replied that next door to their office was the office of my neurologist and that I can get the results for them. They told me that I had to have new X-rays done on the 4th floor and they had me waiting for 2 hours to get the result from next door. When I told Dr. Benedict that I had another appointment I was told by him to leave because he was still waiting on one more result. Dr. Benedict was extremely rude and I had to walk out of the office. I asked the front receptionist to reschedule me with Dr. Ramos. As soon as Dr. Ramos saw me he was arrogant and rude and refused to hear me out or listen to the pain I had. He told me that there was nothing he can do for me, that I have wasted his time instead of having a new patient for him to see. I was told that I should have stayed with Dr. Benedict. I told him that I was a new patient and that I didn't have the opportunity to discuss anything with Dr. Benedict and that I had a very bad experience with him. He told me that he couldn't do anything for me and that I wasted 30 minutes of his time. I only was able to speak to Dr. Ramos for only 2 minutes when I was basically kicked out of his office. Dr. Ramos and Dr. Benedict are very unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. Save yourself the time, stress and frustration and don't go to this office!!!!!
Just returned from a 5 year check-up of my left knee replacement/Makoplasty. I am one happy person. Both knees x-rayed and examined by my surgeon at So FL Orthopaedics. The report is that the implants look like they were "put in yesterday" - no advancing of arthritis in either knee, and the joint spaces in both knees look great. I am good to go and I am so thankful for my amazing surgeon Dr. Scott Desman - I can't begin to say enough about him. I've been in the operating room as his nurse and I've been his patient - there are just not enough words to say the difference that he has made in my life and I am sure that many others would say the same. The staff was great. The check-in and check-out was quick and seamless. In and out in just about an hour, including x-rays! I will always return to So Florida Orthopaedics!
